This is Everything Project Life Layout

It's been a while since I made and shared a Project Life layout. I used the Little Details Mini Kit from Life Love Paper for both of my Project Life Layouts. The majority of the embellishments came from two previous Freckled Fawn embellishment kits.

For my first layout, I documented a day at the park with my boys. It was the first weekend of Summer break, and we were so excited to go to the playground. We went to the park in the morning before it got way too hot.

For my second layout, I documented a trip to the Marietta Pizza Company. It was Raphael's first time, so we were all excited to take him there. If you are ever in town, you have got to try Marietta Pizza Company. The pizza is delicious, and John loves the spinach and mushroom calzone.

We've been having a blast this Summer, and I'm loving documenting our adventures. I can't wait to make more Project Life layouts.

How are you going to document your Summer adventures?

A Day Date at Newk's - Project Life Layout

It's been a long time since I made a Project Life layout so I'm really excited to share this little layout I made.

Last week, John and I went to a new-to-me restaurant called Newk's and it was amazing! If you are ever in Georgia, I highly recommend that you go to Newk's. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious!

To make this layout, I decided to keep things simple. I used two Studio Calico project life cards and some Studio Calico alpha stickers. I used a Freckled Fawn kit and a few other little embellishments to complete the layout.

I really love making simple and smaller layouts. I've noticed that I'm not as overwhelmed with the smaller format and I usually finish the layout in about an hour.

What have you been working on?

Back to School Project Life Layout

Happy Monday! Last I week, I shared a scrapbook layout of my oldest son's first day of school. You can check it out here. Today I'm going to share a Project Life layout of my youngest son's first day of Kindergarten.

To make this layout, I used some blank Project Life cards and one sticker pack. I used a circle punch on my photos and love how they turned out. Once I adhered my photos onto the blank cards, I added some embellishments onto the cards. Then I took another card, added some journaling lines and a sticker. I added my journaling on the card and wrote down the date on sticker. I also added a sticker on another blank card. I love that the stickers adds a bit of dimension to my layout. The globe sticker is my favorite sticker. Seriously, it's so cute. I also love the hint of glitter on the chipboard sticker with the heart image.

I really love how simple and cute this layout turned out. I can't wait to continue to document my boys' school year.

Supplies Used:

  • Project Life 3x4 white cards

Project Life with Studio Calico

Last month, I mentioned that I planned to start a new Project Life album in July. I was really afraid to start a new album since I never did finish my old one. I felt so pressured to make a layout every week and eventually fell behind. This time, I decided that I would take it easy and just make a layout whenever I felt like it.

For this month, I decided to use Studio Calico's Fairground Project Life kit. This is an older kit that I barely used. Using a kit is extremely helpful because I didn't have to worry about going through my stash to find the right embellishments or cards. I also used a Currently List for my first layout. Currently cards are such a great way to document your day, week, or month.

This chipboard piece is so cute, but I did have a hard time trying to figure out how to use it in my layout. I ended up adhering some different patterned papers to the chipboard and then adhered it to a blank Project Life card. I wrote down the year and made a couple of doodles.

This is one of my favorite layouts. I love the "Dear Summer" card and decided to use the colors in the words as my palette. I chose two other cards that matched the colors as well as the coordinating alpha stickers.

This is also one of my favorite layouts. Since this was a Fourth of July layout, I decided to stick with a red, white, and blue color palette. I adhered my photo onto a blank Project Life card and then embellished it with a blue and red star as well as used a phrase sticker as a sentiment. Below is a closeup of the layout.

So far I am loving how this album is turning out. I'm not sure if I will only document my Summer, but I can't wait to see how this album looks at the end of the month.

Have you started any new projects?

Project Life Update

Happy Thursday! I have been slacking off with Project Life. I haven't made any Project Life layouts since early January, but you may have noticed that I have been making a lot of 8.5x11 scrapbook layouts. I plan to start a new Project Life album starting in July, but I'm going to try to keep it simple. My goal for this project is to just document my Summer rather than making it a year long project.

Normally, I use 12x12 Project Life albums, but I am going to use a 6x8 album. I also plan to use my Freckled Fawn embellishment kits. I still have a lot of kits to use up so this will be a great chance to try and use up some of the embellishments. I'm also going to use an old Studio Calico Project Life kit that I bought during one of their sales.

These are just a few of the kits that I plan to use. I'm very happy to say that I have made a lot of progress with using my kits on various projects. I just finished using 3 kits in just a couple of weeks. The only thing that remained from the kits are the washi tapes.

These are the items that I received in the Studio Calico kit. As you can see I have already used some of the items, but I still have a bunch left. I'm hoping to use the entire kit in July. I can't wait to see how this album turns out.

Are you going to work on any projects in July? If so, what do you plan to do or make?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

Decorating Project Life Cards

Happy Wednesday! Can you believe that it's the second day of March? I have a feeling that this month is going to be great! I still have a few things that I want to share that I made last month and today I will be sharing a few Project Life cards that I made.

I used a few supplies to make some Project Life cards. I went through my stash of Me & My Big Ideas pocket pages cards. I chose cards that did not have any writing on them because I wanted to use some epoxy labels. Once I added the labels onto the cards, I began to use other embellishments like stickers and enamel dots.

You may notice that on the card on the left, I put some enamel dots near the corners of the card. You may have to click on the photo in order to get a closer look. I added a dimensional feather sticker onto the middle card and a couple of puffy heart stickers onto the third card. My favorite card is the "Big Dreamer" card that has the feather.

I'm really loving the watercolor look on these two cards. I decided to keep these two simple and just add an epoxy label for each of the cards. I think the watercolor background added the right amount of detail on the cards.

This was a great way for me to use up my stash. I definitely plan to decorate more of my pocket pages cards soon.

Supplies Used:

  • Me & My Big Ideas Cards
  • Sandy Lion Feather Stickers
  • DCWV Inc. Vintage Collector Epoxy Labels
  • Freckled Fawn Woodland Kit-White Puffy Stickers

You Are One in A Million Project Life Card

Hello! A few weeks ago, I made a Project Life card using a few supplies and mentioned in the blog post that I would be making a few more. You can check out that blog post here. Today, I want to share another card that I made.

I used most of the same supplies that was used to make my "Dream" project life card, but I did add a few different pieces. I used my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to adhere the paper to the wood veneer piece. Then I started adding the embellishments. I really love the "You Are One in A Million" flair and the "Dream Big" epoxy label.

Random Tip:

I had those DCWV Inc. epoxy labels for a while and when I tried to take the labels off the sheet, the adhesive on some of the labels were no longer sticky or the paper on the back kept ripping. At first, I thought that I would have to toss the labels, but I was able to make them work by using my Tombow adhesive. So if you come across some stickers or labels that are either not sticking or the paper is tearing try using some adhesive like a glue runner.

Dream Project Life Card

Hey! Hey! Happy Monday! Today, I want to share a Project Life card that I made using a wood veneer and some September Skies paper designed by Heidi Swapp. Sorry in advance for the picture. I tried taking several pictures and it just was not coming out the way I wanted it to.

I was a bit hesitant to use the wood veneer piece because I had no idea what I wanted to use it on. I'm used to using smaller wood veneers and not large ones. I was going to use it in a layout, but decided that it would be perfect as a project life card. I also knew that I wanted to use the constellation paper from Heidi Swapp's September Skies paper pad. I adhered the wood veneer to the paper and then trimmed the excess paper. Then I added some small embellishments like the "dream" foam word and the heart foam pieces. Then I added some ferns and a few puffy stickers.

Overall, I really love how the card came out. I'm glad that I decided to try something new and I definitely plan to do this more often.

Think Happy Thoughts Card

Hello! Today, I want to share another card that I made and submitted to Paper Issues Fall Crop on their Facebook page, Paper Issues {Friends & Fans}. I submitted this card to A Flair for Buttons challenge. For this challenge, participants were asked to use flair on any project.

To make this card, I grabbed a sheet from Heidi Swapp's September Skies 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to the card base. Then I found an adorable pocket page card from Me & My Big Ideas and adhered it onto the card. I added a badge from Studio Calico. The badge says "It's gonna be ok". The pocket page and the sheet from the paper pad goes so well together. I love how colorful it is.

Birthday Card and Project Life Birthday Card

Hello! Can you believe that it's November? Halloween is over <insert sad face here>, but that's ok. The holidays are almost here and I am so excited. I have been making so many projects the past few weeks and I think it's due to the changing season. It may sound weird, but I've noticed that during the Fall, I tend to want to make a ton of projects.

I'm trying to use up my Simple Stories Snap Pack so I have been making a lot of birthday themed projects. Today, I want to share another birthday card that I made as well as a Project Life birthday card.

For this card, I used a small journaling card from Simple Stories Birthday Snap Pack. I believe it is either a 2x2 or 3x3 card. I decided to use some foam dots on the journaling card so that it would have dimension. Then I adhered it to the center of my card base. Then I added some die cuts. I used my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to adhere the die cuts to my card.

This project life card was very simple to make. I just chose a card from the Simple Stories Birthday Snap Pack and a die cut. Then I used some foam dots on the die cut and adhered it to the journaling card. This card would be perfect to use in Project Life, mini album, or I could just make another card using this project life card.

Supplies Used:

  • Simple Stories Snap Pack-Birthday
  • Tombow Xtreme Adhesive
  • Elmer's Foam Dots

Halloween Project Life Cards

Hey! Hey! I seriously love Fall and have been in the Halloween spirit. I have been making lots of Fall and Halloween projects left and right. Today, I want to share a few Halloween Project Life cards that I made.

To make my Halloween Project Life cards, I used some Halloween themed Project Life cards from Me & My Big Ideas and some left over skull, black cat, and pumpkin "confetti". I used some pop dots to add some dimension. I thought about adding some enamel dots and maybe some washi tape or stickers, but decided not to. I'm afraid if I add anything else, it will make the Project Life pages a bit too bulky and the cards might not even fit in the pocket due to the bulk if I add anything else.

I'm not sure why the manufacturers of the embellishments decided to call them confetti because they are little too big to be confetti. However, they are so cute and I'm glad that I still had some more left. Last year, I blogged about how I used the confetti in my art journal. You can check that out here.

Supplies Used:

  • Me & My Big Ideas Specialty Cards-Halloween
  • Skull, Black Cat, and Pumpkin "confetti"
Are you in the Halloween spirit? Have you been working on some Fall or Halloween projects?

July 2015-Month in Review Card

Hello! Hello! Can you believe that July is over and now it's August? Seriously, this year is going by way too fast. There are only 4 more months before this year is over! July was such an awesome and memorable month.

Highlights in July:

July was a really awesome month.
  • There were a couple of birthdays in July. My mom, brother in law, and father in law all had birthdays in July.
  •  I got my driver's license (I know, I know...finally).
  • I also organized my little craft area which I have been wanting to do for a while.
  • We also went to Six Flags and White Waters and had a blast. I'm a little sad that July is over, but I am excited for Fall.
The card that I used is from the 5th and Frolic core kit. I kept it simple and just used my Staedtler pens and filled it in. I just realized that I did not put the year so I will be adding that to the top.

How was your July? Do you fill out any month in review cards?

Until next time...

Currently List Layout June 29-July 5

Hello! Hello! A few weeks ago, I decided to fill out some Currently Lists cards everyday for an entire week. I knew I would want to put them in my Project Life album so I decided to make full page layout using my cards.

I got this amazing idea from Jennie over at EarthyScrap to print my Currently Lists onto cardstock and papers from Dear Lizzy's Best Of papers pack. I really love how they turned out. Once they were printed, all I had to do was just fill one out every day.

For my title card, I used some black and white alphas. I can't remember what collection they are from, but I have had them for a while. I also used some Simple Stories alphas as well and used my black Sharpie pen for the numbers.

I needed to make a filler card since I had placed all 7 Currently cards and my title card in place. I decided to use the "This Week" stamp from Rukristin. This stamp was perfect since I was documenting my Currently Lists for the week. Below is another close up of the lists.

Supplies:

How many Currently Lists do you fill out a week? Do you put them in mini albums, art journals, or Project Life albums?

Thank you for visiting!

Monthly Project Life Cards

Hello! Happy Sunday! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Today, I want to share some monthly Project Life cards that I made over the past few days using my Freckled Fawn kits. These cards will be used in next year's Project Life album.

I chose my cards from the Project Life seasons edition mini kit. I decided that I wanted to make my monthly title cards on the 4x6 cards because I thought they were the perfect size. I actually wanted to use wood chips/alphas on all of my cards, but I ended up running out of a few letters. Thank goodness for all of the other alphas that I had in my stash.

I used one kit for one card except for the September 2014 kit. I used the wood alphas from the September kit on almost all of the cards. I also chose to match the kit to the card. For instance, I made February's card using February's kit, March's card was made with the March kit, and so on. Using one kit for each card made it easy to coordinate the embellishments.

Supplies:

Since I plan on keeping my Freckled Fawn subscription, I definitely plan to use each kit to make my monthly Project Life card. I am so excited to get July's kit and will be sharing my July card once I finish it.

Do you subscribe to Freckled Fawn? Or do you subscribe to any other kit? What do you like to make with your kits? Feel free to share in the comments section.

Until next time...

Set Sail Card

Happy Saturday! Today's post is a little late in the day, but I was busy with errands and had a few to dos to get done. Once I was done with all of that, I was able to get some crafting done.

I bought the DCWV Seaside Yacht 12x12 paper stack a while ago, but never really had the chance to do anything with it. I love the papers that have the cards that you can cut apart and knew that I would eventually use those first. I love that you can leave them as they are or you can decorate them. I decided to decorate my favorite card that was in the stack which is the one that says "Set Sail".

I love how the card turned out. I think the red enamel dots adds a pop of color and the sail boats are so cute! I focused mainly at the corners of the card since the words were so big. This card was really easy to decorate which was what I was going for. Now I have to decide whether to use it in my Project Life album or just adhere it to a folded card and use it as a greeting card. I plan to decorate the rest of the cards from the Seaside Yacht pack as well as go with similar embellishments as well.

Supplies:

  • Recollections Craft It Valentine-Enamel Dots
  • Studio Calico Wood Veneers
  • DCWV Seaside Yacht cut apart card (Set Sail card)
  • Tombow Xtreme Adhesive
How is your weekend going? What have you made this week? Feel free to share in the comments section.

Project Life Core Kits--September Skies & Fine and Dandy

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. Yesterday, I was finally able to get some new Project Life core kits. I kept wondering whether or not I should get a core kit since I have enough Project Life cards as it is. However, after watching some Youtube videos of the September Skies core kit and the Fine and Dandy core kit, I decided I would get at least one. My local Hobby Lobby still doesn't have any of the core kits on shelves so I ended up going to a different one. After my second trip there (that's a totally different story to tell...on a different day), I decided to just get both of the kits so I wouldn't make another trip! Ok so enough of my rambling...on to the good stuff!

September Skies Core Kit

This kit was designed by Heidi Swapp. She actually made a few other products in this collection before making the core kit and value kit. I love this core kit a lot! I'm not a big fan of florals, but this collections has a nice mix of florals, glitter, and colors. I mainly purchased this card due to a few of the cards such as the ones with the constellations, lightbulbs, plus signs, and a few of the glitter cards. Once I saw all of the cards, I knew I made a good decision in purchasing this kit.

Fine and Dandy Core Kit

I also love this core kit a lot. I can't decide whether I like this kit more or September Skies. They are both equally awesome and have gorgeous cards! This kit seems like it is party/Happy Birthday themed, but you can totally use the cards for other themes and purposes than just documenting a birthday celebration. My favorite cards in this core kit are the the glitter cards like the ones with the ice cream cones, hearts and polka dots. I also like the currently cards, numbered lists journaling cards, and the cards with the quotes.

Overall, I am really glad that I purchased these two core kits. I plan to use them in other projects besides my Project Life album and semi traditional (hybrid?) layouts. These cards would be perfect for when I make greeting cards, mini albums, and home decor.

Have you purchased any of the new Project Life core kits? Which ones did you get? Feel free to share your opinion.

Until next time...

Captured Project Life Cards

Hey! Hey! Happy Sunday! Today, I want to share some Project Life cards that I made using my new Freckled Fawn stamp set and a new mini polaroid stamp that I bought at Michaels.

Supplies Used:
  • Hero Arts Neon Blue Ink
  • Hero Arts Neon Pink Ink
  • Versafine Onyx Black Ink
  • Studio G-Polaroid Stamp
  • Acrylic Blocks

I really love how these cards came out. These cards will be perfect for a layout that I plan to make in the next few days. I simply used the Hero Arts neon blue ink and the versafine ink and then stamped onto my cardstock.
I also love this card as well. I made a few mistakes with stamping (some ink got in the wrong places), but I think it came out ok. I plan to use these cards in my Project Life layouts.

I plan to use this stamp set a lot. Be sure to look out for the layout that I plan to make in the next few days with this stamp set.

What have you been creating lately? Feel free to share.

Until next time...
