Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List.

Watching: I have been catching up on the new season of La Querida del Centauro. It's a good thing that I set my DVR to record this show because I have a lot of episodes to catch up on. I loved the first season...the storylines were great. This season is a bit different and has some new characters, but so far the storylines are decent.

Reading: As usual, I'm catching up on some blogs. I still have to finish reading 10 Things I Can See From Here, but I'm not sure if I'll finish it by the end of this month.

Listening: I am loving this song. You can check out the song here. I had no idea that Shakira has a new album out so I was really excited to check out her new songs.

Making: I've been making cards for my 100 Day Project and have been posting them on Instagram. You can check out my cards here. I'm also working on some blog posts as well.

Feeling: I have so much to be grateful for. A lot of times, we take things for granted...it's important that we stop and be grateful for the things that we have.

Planning: I still have a few more blog updates that I need to work on. Thank goodness that I have accomplished my top blog goal which was to update my blog design.

Loving: So many of my friends have been posting graduation photos of their family members and friends. I've been reading lots of articles about graduations. I'm so proud of everyone who is graduating and going through amazing life events. I hope all of the new graduates are able to accomplish their goals and are successful in life.

#Winning Layout

Happy Wednesday! A couple of weeks ago, my family and I went to Dave & Buster's. It was so hard to take some photos because my boys would not stand still. They were so excited to play some games, so I was only able to get about three clear photos. I had to make a layout using one of the photos so I chose the best photo that I captured.

I was inspired by Eyoung Lee's scrapbook layout and decided to make a similar layout. Instead of using stamps, I decided to use some washi strips from Freckled Fawn's Iconic kit. Most of the supplies used in this layout came from this kit.

Once I placed the washi strips on the page, I adhered my photo using some foam dots. The dots added a bit of dimension. Then I began to place the embellishments near the washi strips. Since I used a Freckled Fawn kit, I didn't have to worry about matching the embellishments to the strips. I did add a few enamel dots from some Recollections enamel dot packs. I also used my Crate Paper Oasis stamp set for part of my title. I used the hashtag stamp since I didn't have a hashtag sticker.

Then I added my journaling and colored the stickers. As usual, I finished the layout by stamping the date on the bottom right corner of the layout.

It was so much fun adding all of the small embellishments onto the page. I really love how all of the colors pop.

Have you been to Dave & Buster's?

Thanks for visiting!

Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List. Sorry for the photo...it's been dark and rainy.

Watching: I'm finally catching up on the last two episodes of Prison Break. I'm actually watching one as I am typing this post.

Reading: Last weekend, John and I checked out a few homes that are on sale. Now I've been checking out other listings on Zillow and a few realtor sites.

Listening: I really love this song. Don't you just love when an old song plays on your phone or iPod?

Making: Last week, I fell a bit behind on writing some blog posts so today I'm working on some. My goal is to have 15 blog posts up by the end of the month.

Feeling: The school year is almost over and I may just be more excited than the boys. I can't believe that this school year has gone by so fast.

Planning: I have so many things that I want to do this summer so I have to start planning.

Loving: If you haven't tried the new Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks then I suggest you go get one. This new frappuccino is so delicious and I love the hint of mint.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had such a busy, but fun weekend.

On Friday, I was finally able to find the Jane Davenport watercolor palettes at Michaels. I was even able to use two 50% percent off coupons. I will be posting a review of the palettes soon. After we left Michaels, John and I had breakfast at IHOP. The breakfast was delicious and the service was awesome. While on our way home, we saw a house that is up for sale so we decided to check it out. Instead of going home, we decided to check out some more homes that are for sale. There were so many beautiful homes and I made a list so that we could talk to a realtor. If you have any tips on buying a home, please let me know.

On Saturday, my little sister called me and told me that there was a Community Block Party. She asked me to bring the boys. The boys were so excited. There were several booths, music, and food. The boys loved checking out the fire trucks and police cars. They even won some cool prizes.

After checking out the booths and eating some snacks, the boys played at the playground. When we got home, we were all ready for a nap.

On Sunday, we spent the day at home. It was a productive day. I got a lot of laundry done and was able to work on a few projects. I had a really bad headache, but luckily I was able to get some rest in the afternoon. Since I was able to get a decent amount of rest, I know I will be ready for the new week.

How was your weekend?

We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board Review

Happy Thursday! A couple of weeks ago, I heard about the Mini Alphabet Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers. I was so excited when I saw this product because I thought it would be really useful for all of the projects that I make. I knew that it would be perfect for cards, layouts, art journaling, and for my new journal. I also thought it would be perfect for school projects. There is a larger alphabet punch board that is available, but I really like the size of the mini punch board. After searching online, I finally found out that the only local store that carries the mini size is Hobby Lobby. So I decided to go to Hobby Lobby and purchase one.

Seriously how cute is this punch board? It's so small and has everything you need to punch out your letters. You can also punch out numbers and an exclamation point.

The punch board came with an instruction booklet. I highly recommend that you read the instructions first. I do have to admit that I got a bit frustrated because I kept messing up when I tried to make my letters. I did read the instructions, but the instructions were mainly visual instructions. The booklet did not have a lot of written words. The only instructions that I saw and read was to trim the paper to 1.5x2.5 inches using a paper trimmer or the punch board. Then everything else was just visual instructions so you have to look at the pictures and try to do everything that is shown. Luckily, I was able to find a video on Youtube that showed someone using the punch board. There is also an app that is available with the instructions as well. I think that's really cool because then you don't have to take the booklet with you.

Once I finally realized what I did wrong (which was a simple error lol), I was able to make a couple of letters. I love how they turned out. I plan to add the letter "E" to my journal.

Do you have the original alphabet punch board or mini alphabet punch board? What do you think of this new product?

Awesome Ladies Project NSD 2017 Currently Me Mini Album

National Scrapbook Day was on May 6 and I decided to join a couple of challenges and workshops that were held throughout the weekend. I was so excited to work on the Awesome Ladies Project Currently Me mini album workshop. I really love how my album turned out.

I kept my cover simple and used some patterned paper to cover a 6x6 cardstock. I wanted the pages to be a bit thicker than cardstock so adding the patterned paper helped. I embellished the cover with a couple of label stickers and alpha stickers. I may add a few more embellishments on the cover, but for now I think it looks ok.

Name/Date/Place

The first challenge was to document a name, date, and place. I simply added a photo of myself along with a few embellishments. I added an "E" alpha sticker for my name and wrote down the year and state that I am in.

Currently Watching

I really loved this challenge. I filled in the labels with all of the current shows that I have been watching. Then I added some enamel dots to the empty labels.

Currently Listening

I kept this layout simple and used some glitter enamel dots as bullet points. Then I wrote down the names of the songs that I have been listening to.

Currently Reading

This was another one of my favorite challenges. I love reading and decided to add a picture of my bookcase. I wrote down my favorite genre as well as mentioned which book I just finished reading. I also wrote down the name of the book that I am currently reading.

Currently Making

For this challenge, I added a photo of several of the cards that I made for my 100 Day Project.

Currently Feeling

This was another one of my favorite challenges, but it was also a bit hard to choose which feeling I wanted to focus on. I ended up choosing to focus on my feeling of excitement. I added a photo of my early Mother's Day gifts which were some brand new art supplies. I have so many ideas of projects that I plan to make using these new supplies.

Currently Planning

For this layout, I decided to make a list of things that I plan to do throughout the rest of the year. I added some label stickers and enamel dots. I used some alpha stickers for my title.

Currently Loving

For this layout, I used a photo of my husband and my sons. I used some alpha stickers to spell out "My Loves" and "My Boys". I added a heart enamel shape to the words. Then used a stamp on the right side of my layout.

This was one of my favorite mini albums and I am so glad that I was able to participate in this year's Awesome Ladies Project NSD online crop.

Reading: I caught up on some blog posts. I'm still reading 10 Things I Can See From Here by Carrie Mac. Once I'm done with that book, I plan to read 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher.

Listening: I really love this song. It's been on repeat.

Making: National Scrapbook Day was on May 6 and there were so many different challenges from a lot of companies. I decided to participate in Studio Calico's online NSD crop and The Awesome Ladies Project crop. I may even try to complete some of the challenges from Scrapbook.com.

Good Times Mixed Media Layout

Happy Monday! Today I'm excited to share a mixed media layout that I made last week. I was inspired by this scrapbook layout that Jen Chapin made with a Studio Calico kit. I don't make a lot of mixed media scrapbook layouts, but I have been trying to step out of my comfort zone.

The boys and I went to the playground and took so many great photos. Of course I had to make a few layouts documenting our fun day.

I decided to use my Dylusions Paints for this layout. I used three different colors and then added a few dots on the cardstock. Then I spread the paint across the page. Once the paint dried, I added my photo and the transparent title. I used a ruler and added some journaling lines. Then I embellished the layout with some enamel dots and stickers. I felt that the bottom right of the layout was "empty" so I used a stamp set to add an additional title and used a wood veneer ampersand. To complete my layout, I added my journaling.

Below is a close up of my layout.

I plan to make a few more mixed media layouts and can't wait to share them with you.

Currently Layout

Happy Wednesday! Last month, I made a few layouts, but was not able to share them on my blog. Today, I'm going to share one of those layouts.

For this layout, I documented things that I was currently doing and loving. I journaled about some old and new favorite things. To make this layout, I used a few different Freckled Fawn embellishment kits, a ruler, pen, and my date stamp.

I adhered my photo onto some patterned paper and then adhered it to the cardstock. Once my photo was in place, I placed several epoxy stickers onto the page. I love that the epoxy stickers has a word or phrase on them. I decided to use the epoxy stickers as titles for my journaling. After adding the epoxy stickers, I stamped some bullet points and plus signs underneath. I also added some journaling lines underneath a few of the epoxy stickers. Then I added the gold puffy arrow stickers and made sure that each one pointed towards to the epoxy stickers. Then I added some more colorful puffy stickers (heart and plus sign shapes) and added my journaling. To finish the layout, I stamped the date using my date stamp.

Below are some close ups of my layout. You can also click on each image for a closer look at the journaling.

A few things that I documented were my favorite books as well as what I was currently reading. I also mentioned my love for the Free Art Movement in my community.

I also mentioned my love for journaling as well as what types of art and art supplies I am currently loving.

I mentioned what I am currently obsessed with. A few of those things are Game of Thrones, Supernatural and Harry Potter. One of the epoxy stickers says "Me Time" and I wrote down how I think it's important to have some time to yourself.

I also wrote down a few of my new favorite things. A couple of my new favorite things are the new Jane Davenport Mixed Media collection and pomegranate juice. I also mentioned what I like to read.

What are you currently loving? What are some of your old or new favorite things?

Reading: I just received a new book from Blogging for Books. The book is called 10 Things I Can See From Here by Carrie Mac. So far, I'm enjoying this book.

Listening: All Good Things is one of my favorite songs. I recently heard that Nelly Furtado is working on some new music and I'm so excited. I loved her album, Loose. During the weekend, I had her album on repeat.

Making: I'm hoping to have most, if not all, of my blog posts for this month drafted by the end of the week.

Feeling: Maybe it's because it's Monday, but I am feeling so weird.

Planning: I have several projects that I have to work on this month. I'm still working on my 100 Day Project and I just started a new project, but I haven't figured out what to call it. I posted this photo of the supplies I plan to use for my new project. I'm going to document some women who inspire me. Some of these women are writers, artists, and poets. I'm also adding some of my favorite quotes, poems, etc. that these women made.

Loving: John and I had lunch at Sonic. The chili cheese coney was good, but their frozen lemonade with mango was too sweet.
