10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

Happy Friday! Today I'm linking up with Charlotte, Lindsay, and Beth for their weekly grateful and happy list link up. I completely forgot to post a Happy List last week, so this week's list will have some things from last week as well. It just goes to show that last week was absolutely terrible, and I was not myself at all.

1. Getting my first dose of the vaccine

2. Peach lemonade

3. Taking care of myself

4. Reading

5. Finding encouraging messages, especially since I could really use them (I'm taking it as a sign from the universe)

6. Happy mail

7. Journaling

8. Buying a new book

9. Summer break has officially started!

10. Watching funny Tik Tok videos and reading funny memes

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at Starbucks and get some Strawberry Funnel Cake frappuccinos. We'd also get a couple of breakfast sandwiches and some pastries to go. The weather has been gorgeous, and it'd be a waste to stay indoors. A walk around the neighborhood would do us some good.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that my nephew finally arrived two weeks ago. He is absolutely adorable. I've been loving all the photos and videos that my little sister has been sending me. I'm still getting a little used to the fact that my baby sister is now a mom. I feel old!

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm super excited because many of my favorite shows are coming back this month. Castlevania, The Bold Type, and Lucifer are all coming back this month. I'm a little bummed that the upcoming seasons of all three of these series are the final series. However, I did hear a new series set in the Castlevania universe in the works. Fingers crossed that it's true and, if so, that it's just as good as Castlevania.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I have so many projects that I need to finish, but I also have so many new projects that I want to work on. I have a terrible habit of starting projects and then not finishing them. I'm trying really hard not to start on the new ones just yet.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I've been really stressed out and incredibly overwhelmed. Journaling and crafting have been two ways that I have been coping. Despite being stressed, I love (and have been taking it as a sign) that I've been randomly finding poems and encouraging words by my favorite writers, artists, and poets. As I said before, I'm taking it as a sign from the universe. So I'm going to continue to hope.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm so glad that we were able to catch up. I always look forward to our monthly coffee chats. I hope to see you soon, and I can't wait for our next coffee chat.

What would you tell me?

Target Finds

Happy Wednesday and Cinco de Mayo. So I totally meant to share this post last month, but I'm sharing it now. I have found some really great stuff at Target over the past couple of months and decided to share those finds. I'm happy to say that I haven't been disappointed in any of the items I've purchased from Target in the past few months. Every single item on this list is a current favorite product for my family or me.

Let's check out what I found at Target.

This belt is amazing. I've used it while exercising and also while running errands. It stays in place and is easy to use. This is probably the best workout band that I have ever bought.

We bought this for Raphael's birthday, and he loves it. There are so many different things that he can do. He really likes the writing tablet. When he traces the shapes and letters, he always cheers.

I'm a huge fan of Morgan Harper Nichols. I heard about her and her work on Instagram. Her work is amazing. I bought her newest book, How Far You Have Come, a few weeks ago. I still have to read it, but I know I'm going to love it. I ended up buying another copy for my sister. You can check out her first book, All Along You Were Blooming, here

This was an impulse buy, but I'm so glad that I ended up picking it up. This trail mix is my new favorite snack. It is so good. I don't think I've ever had a "s'mores" trail mix before. Whoever decided to make this is a genius.

Overall, I found some great things at Target. As usual, I saved on all of my Target Finds by using the Cartwheel app and buying items on sale.

What are some of your favorite Target Finds?

May Goals

It's finally May! One of my favorite months of the year. This month is usually a busy but fun month. There are so many things and people to celebrate. I'm looking forward to so many things this month. Michael's birthday is coming up soon, my little sister is due any day now, Mother's Day is in a few days, and the last day of school is in a couple of weeks. It's going to be a great month.

Last month was ok. The best part was celebrating Raphael's birthday. We had so much fun. I can't believe my baby is 3 years old now. We're still house hunting, and I'm still hopeful that we'll find something soon. I'm still dreaming up ways that I want to decorate our house once we finally find the right house for us.

As far as goals go, I think I did somewhat ok on my goals. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't accomplish some of my goals, but I am pleased with the ones that I did accomplish. Since it's a new month, let's check out my new goals for the month and have a little recap on how I did on last month's goals.

Recap of April Goals

  • Finish reading 2 books that I didn't finish last month: I accomplished this goal. I read Fae's Queen by Lily Archer and Shattered Empress by Brook Wilder. I read a lot of other books as well. It was a good month to read.
  • Read one of the books that I have to review soon: I read Home Is Not a Country by Safia Elhillo. This book was amazing! I highly recommend it. I shared my review on Goodreads but haven't posted one on the blog yet. I will have to do that soon.
  • Complete the One Little Word prompts for March and April: I completed the prompts for March, but not for April. So I guess this is a half-accomplished goal (is that a thing?).
  • Complete the Here: Touchstones class by Liz Lamoreux: I didn't complete the course, but I have been working on the prompts. I got stuck on a few prompts and started to overthink them, so I skipped a few of them.
  • Try 1 new recipe: This was a fail. I have no excuses other than I simply forgot and stuck to my go-to recipes.
  • Drink more water: I'm not sure what to consider this. I did drink more water, but not as much as I should have.
  • Publish 1 personal piece for the blog: This was a fail. I have no excuse as to why I didn't publish a post. I certainly had time but just didn't set aside time for my blog.

May Goals

  • Finish reading 3 books that I didn't finish last month
  • Read one of the books that I have to review soon
  • Complete One Little Word prompts for April
  • Complete Here: Touchstones class
  • Try 1 new recipe
  • Publish 1 personal piece for the blog
  • Complete 1 Skillshare class

What are your goals for May? How did you do in April?
