Book of Me - Introspection

Happy Wednesday! Last month, I shared a project that I made for The Awesome Ladies Project Book of Me workshop. You can check out the project that I made last month here.

Today, I'm so excited to share a mini album that I made for this month's chapter of The Book of Me workshop. This month's chapter is Introspection.

I decided to use some interactive elements from the I AM collection by Simple Stories. This is collection is perfect for this month's Book of Me chapter. I used most of the interactive elements to make a mini album and I absolutely love how it turned out. Once I put the elements in order and adhered them together, I added my journaling and some embellishments like alpha stickers and puffy stickers.

Check out the images below for my entire album.

I really love that this mini album is interactive. I love that I was able to add journaling to a card and have it placed in a little pocket.

I added some journaling to the front and back of my card. Then I embellished the card with some alpha stickers. I also added a black and white selfie to my album.

On the left side of the image, is the back of the card.

I added another selfie to the page. I used the tags to list things that describe me. Each tag can be pulled out of the pocket that I adhered onto the page.

Below is a closer look at the tags.

Instead of handwriting the words on the tags, I decided to use some alpha stickers.

This is one of my favorite pages. Most of you may already know that I love Currently List cards so I'm sure you're not surprised to see another currently list in my album.

This page was simple to make. I just added some alpha stickers and then added some journaling.

On the right side of the page, I adhered my currently list and then stamped "March 2018".

Overall, I'm really happy with how this album turned out. I'm also happy to say that I was able to use a lot of items in my scrapbooking stash to make this album.

Do you plan to participate in this month's Book of Me workshop?

Currently Mini Tag Album

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm over at The Awesome Ladies Project with another take on this month's chapter, Currently. Instead of making another scrapbook layout, I decided to make a mini tag album. You can check out the rest of my album and get more information on how I made this album here. Below are some images of my mini tag album.

Are you working on any projects? Have you ever made a mini album?

The Awesome Ladies Project - Book of Me Workshop

Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited to share this really awesome workshop from The Awesome Ladies ProjectThe Book of Me workshop is an amazing year long course where participants share their stories. There is no right or wrong way to complete this workshop. You can choose to use a mini album, a travelers notebook, journal, notebook, hybrid album, photo album, etc. for your individual Book of Me project. The only thing that you have to do is be open and honest with your storytelling.

It took me a while to decide which format I wanted to use for my Book of Me. I thought about my One Little Word and decided that I'm going to use my Moleskine sketchbook for this workshop. Many of you may know that my word for the year is grow. The three main goals that I hope to accomplish this year is to grow as a writer, grow as a creative, and grow as a person. The Book of Me workshop is a fantastic way to help me along the way to my journey of growing.

This month's Book of Me chapter is Currently. You all know how much I love currently lists so I thought it was only right to use a currently list card in this layout. Now you may be surprised to see that I actually made a scrapbook layout instead of something in my sketchbook. However, I do plan to journal in my sketchbook and will share that at a later date.

As for this layout, I decided to document my birthday. Every year, I make a birthday scrapbook layout and I thought it would be perfect to document the things that I am currently doing now. I think it will be great to look back at the things that I was doing on my birthday.

To make this layout, I used a bunch of items and kits from Freckled Fawn, a pink currently list, and a few other embellishments. I also used a selfie that was taken a day before my birthday (I decided to celebrate all week long).

Check out The Awesome Ladies Project's blog for more information on how I created this layout, more information on the currently lists, and to learn more about the Book of Me workshop.

Awesome Ladies Project NSD 2017 Currently Me Mini Album

National Scrapbook Day was on May 6 and I decided to join a couple of challenges and workshops that were held throughout the weekend. I was so excited to work on the Awesome Ladies Project Currently Me mini album workshop. I really love how my album turned out.

I kept my cover simple and used some patterned paper to cover a 6x6 cardstock. I wanted the pages to be a bit thicker than cardstock so adding the patterned paper helped. I embellished the cover with a couple of label stickers and alpha stickers. I may add a few more embellishments on the cover, but for now I think it looks ok.

Name/Date/Place

The first challenge was to document a name, date, and place. I simply added a photo of myself along with a few embellishments. I added an "E" alpha sticker for my name and wrote down the year and state that I am in.

Currently Watching

I really loved this challenge. I filled in the labels with all of the current shows that I have been watching. Then I added some enamel dots to the empty labels.

Currently Listening

I kept this layout simple and used some glitter enamel dots as bullet points. Then I wrote down the names of the songs that I have been listening to.

Currently Reading

This was another one of my favorite challenges. I love reading and decided to add a picture of my bookcase. I wrote down my favorite genre as well as mentioned which book I just finished reading. I also wrote down the name of the book that I am currently reading.

Currently Making

For this challenge, I added a photo of several of the cards that I made for my 100 Day Project.

Currently Feeling

This was another one of my favorite challenges, but it was also a bit hard to choose which feeling I wanted to focus on. I ended up choosing to focus on my feeling of excitement. I added a photo of my early Mother's Day gifts which were some brand new art supplies. I have so many ideas of projects that I plan to make using these new supplies.

Currently Planning

For this layout, I decided to make a list of things that I plan to do throughout the rest of the year. I added some label stickers and enamel dots. I used some alpha stickers for my title.

Currently Loving

For this layout, I used a photo of my husband and my sons. I used some alpha stickers to spell out "My Loves" and "My Boys". I added a heart enamel shape to the words. Then used a stamp on the right side of my layout.

This was one of my favorite mini albums and I am so glad that I was able to participate in this year's Awesome Ladies Project NSD online crop.

February Awesome Ladies Project Layouts

Happy Friday! Today I'm sharing my Awesome Ladies Project layouts that I made in February. February's theme was Favorites.

This layout was created for the Half and Half challenge. The challenge was to use a split design on a layout. One of the easiest ways to do this is to use different patterned papers. I used two different papers and then added a photo of my son as well as some embellishments to the right of the layout. I decided to leave the left side blank.

This layout was created for the Style challenge. The challenge was to use hearts. I decided to use a bunch of little heart shaped stickers to make a heart shape. This layout has a lot of pink, but I added some black and red to make the layout pop a bit.

The journaling says "I love how so many people are still protesting & standing up for each other (as well as their own) rights. The unity is amazing and inspiring".

The next challenge that I completed was the Photo challenge. The challenge was to take a photo of a favorite item. On Friday, I finally found some Girl Scouts Thin Mints cookies and was so excited. My husband took of a picture of me with a box of cookies...yes I bought five boxes of Thin Mints (don't judge me lol).

This layout was created for the Words challenge. The challenge was to write a letter to a friend about our favorite things. I decided to write a letter to my husband about my love of crafting and watercolor painting. My husband has been very encouraging and supportive of my hobby so I decided to write the letter to him.

How did you document your February? Do you participate in challenges?

Feminist Greeting Cards

Happy Wednesday! Last weekend, I made some handmade greeting cards.

I wanted to make some feminist greeting cards and decided to use one of my favorite stamp sets. The Lady Stamp Set from Rukristin is perfect for making feminist greeting cards and other projects. I decided to keep the cards clean and simple. I just used black ink and then stamped the words onto the cardstock. I plan on making a few more card sets as well as some individual cards for my shop.

Supplies Used:
  • Cardstock
  • Black Ink

Awesome Ladies Project - January Layouts

Happy Thursday! For those of you who may be new to my blog, I was part of the Awesome Ladies Project Creative Team and am now the group leader of the Currently List Challenge group. The Awesome Ladies Project is an awesome community filled with amazing women who share their stories. Many of these women are scrapbookers, journalers, photographers, etc.

Today I'm so excited to share my layouts that I made in my Awesome Ladies Project travelers notebook. Below are the layouts that I made.

There are various challenges for the month, but you are also free to create anything that you want. This month's overall challenge was to focus on "Right Now".  For the layout above, the challenge was to use patterned paper as a main focal point.

For the layout above, I wanted to document my right now. I love the black and gold embellishments.

For the layout above, I documented spending time with my little sister. I took my sons and my little sister to a new (to us) playground. I used a die cut from my stash and some Project Life stickers.

The layout above is part of the "Words" challenge. The challenge was to make a Top 5 list.

This layout is part of the photo challenge. The challenge was to take a mirror selfie. I don't normally take a lot of selfies so this was definitely a challenge for me. I used one of my Awesome Ladies stamp sets, a Heidi Swapp date stamp, and some embellishments from a Freckled Fawn kit.

How did you document your January?

Awesome Ladies Project 1.1

Hello! Happy Friday! It's been about a few weeks or so since the Awesome Ladies Project came back. Each week there will be a new challenge posted on Rukristin's blog, IG, and you can also get an email sent to you with information on the challenge.

The first week's challenge was all about entertainment routines. The challenge was to document how entertainment plays a role in your life. I was inspired by Rukristin and how she documented her Fall television routine. I decided to do something similar and document the shows that I had watched for a week and will continue to watch.

*Sorry for the bad lighting. It just wasn't working for me on the day I took the picture.*

It was really simple to make this layout in my art journal. I just filled out the Project Life card. Then I glued it down onto the page. Then I started stamping around the card. I think I probably should have just stamped the triangles first and then glued down the card.

Supplies Used:
  • Freckled Fawn stamp set (from March 2015)
  • 5th and Frolic Project Life card
  • Ranger Ink
  • Tombow Adhesive Glue
