Studio Calico Mystery Kit Giveaway

Happy Wednesday! Many of you know that I am a big fan of memory keeping, scrapbooking, and journaling. I recently made an order to Studio Calico, a scrapbooking and memory keeping company. Studio Calico sells a lot of really cool products like stamps, stickers, and they even have a couple of memory keeping subscriptions.

Occasionally, Studio Calico offers mystery kits, mystery stamps, etc. at a discounted rate when you make a purchase. Of course, I couldn't resist and added a mystery kit to my order. Unfortunately, I already have the same kit. Now I could use a few of the items again, but I decided that it would be fun to have a little giveaway instead. And so here we are.

This kit is perfect for Project Life, traditional scrapbook layouts, travelers notebooks, hybrid memory keeping, journaling, and so much more. I love that I was able to use my kit on various forms of memory keeping.

This Studio Calico mystery kit is perfect for anyone interested in trying scrapbooking and memory keeping or for those who already love memory keeping. Enter below for your chance to win.

Project Life with Studio Calico

Last month, I mentioned that I planned to start a new Project Life album in July. I was really afraid to start a new album since I never did finish my old one. I felt so pressured to make a layout every week and eventually fell behind. This time, I decided that I would take it easy and just make a layout whenever I felt like it.

For this month, I decided to use Studio Calico's Fairground Project Life kit. This is an older kit that I barely used. Using a kit is extremely helpful because I didn't have to worry about going through my stash to find the right embellishments or cards. I also used a Currently List for my first layout. Currently cards are such a great way to document your day, week, or month.

This chipboard piece is so cute, but I did have a hard time trying to figure out how to use it in my layout. I ended up adhering some different patterned papers to the chipboard and then adhered it to a blank Project Life card. I wrote down the year and made a couple of doodles.

This is one of my favorite layouts. I love the "Dear Summer" card and decided to use the colors in the words as my palette. I chose two other cards that matched the colors as well as the coordinating alpha stickers.

This is also one of my favorite layouts. Since this was a Fourth of July layout, I decided to stick with a red, white, and blue color palette. I adhered my photo onto a blank Project Life card and then embellished it with a blue and red star as well as used a phrase sticker as a sentiment. Below is a closeup of the layout.

So far I am loving how this album is turning out. I'm not sure if I will only document my Summer, but I can't wait to see how this album looks at the end of the month.

Have you started any new projects?

Happy Summer Card

Happy Monday! I'm getting close to completing my 100 Day Project and wanted to share a card that I made last Friday.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches. I used my new Freckled Fawn embellishment kit for this card. I also used two separate stamps for the sentiment. This card was really easy to make. I used a washi stripe for the background and then punched a Project Life card using my circle punch. I adhered the circle with my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive glue runner. Then I adhered the resin flip flops to the circle and then added some pearl stickers. I wasn't sure what I wanted the sentiment to be, but ended up deciding to go with "Happy Summer". I used a Happy Birthday stamp that I have in my stash and made sure to only put ink on the word "Happy". Then I used the "Summer" stamp from my Studio Calico stamp set. Once I stamped my sentiment, I added a few more pearl stickers and then colored the word "Summer" with my colored pencils.

Supplies Used:

  • 2 1/2 circle punch
  • Stampabilities "Happy Birthday" stamp set
  • Tombow Xtreme Adhesive
  • Versafine Onyx Black Ink
How was your weekend? Did you get to make anything?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

Project Life Update

Happy Thursday! I have been slacking off with Project Life. I haven't made any Project Life layouts since early January, but you may have noticed that I have been making a lot of 8.5x11 scrapbook layouts. I plan to start a new Project Life album starting in July, but I'm going to try to keep it simple. My goal for this project is to just document my Summer rather than making it a year long project.

Normally, I use 12x12 Project Life albums, but I am going to use a 6x8 album. I also plan to use my Freckled Fawn embellishment kits. I still have a lot of kits to use up so this will be a great chance to try and use up some of the embellishments. I'm also going to use an old Studio Calico Project Life kit that I bought during one of their sales.

These are just a few of the kits that I plan to use. I'm very happy to say that I have made a lot of progress with using my kits on various projects. I just finished using 3 kits in just a couple of weeks. The only thing that remained from the kits are the washi tapes.

These are the items that I received in the Studio Calico kit. As you can see I have already used some of the items, but I still have a bunch left. I'm hoping to use the entire kit in July. I can't wait to see how this album turns out.

Are you going to work on any projects in July? If so, what do you plan to do or make?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

First Day of School Layout and a Card

Hello! Happy Saturday! School may have started last month, but I'm still working on some layouts and other projects that are school related. Today, I want to share a layout I made that documents my son's first day of school. I also made a card as well that can be given to a teacher.

I used Me and My Big Ideas products for my layout. I love their new school collection and knew that they would be perfect for documenting both of my boys' first day of school. I love the glitter embellishments, the globe, and the mini crayons...so cute! And how adorable is my son! You may have noticed that I blurred out his teacher's name.

I really think that the glitter embellishments helps make the page "pop". I love how colorful the embellishments are.

I love that the embellishment packs have these little flags that you can put the date in. That globe is adorable.

I made this card using mainly Me and My Big Ideas embellishments as well, but I did use some Studio Calico gems as well. First, I used a wood apple shape and used a pencil to trace the shape onto my card. Then I put the embellishments inside the traced area. Then I used my Sharpie brush tip marker and went over the outline. I think I should have used the marker as the second step, but I kept changing my mind on whether or not to use the marker. While using the marker, I accidentally made a small mark on one of the gems.

 Products Used:

*I'm playing along with the You Rule the School linky party at Paper Issues.*

Have you been working on some Back to School projects? If so, please feel free to share.

Until next time...
