Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List.

Watching: I just realized that I have never watched the entire musical, but I really like Mamma Mia! The songs are great and now a couple of them are stuck in my head.

Reading: As usual, I'm reading a lot of blogs. I'm trying to decide which book I want to read, but I have so many choices. How do you choose which book to read next?

Listening: Look Alive by BlocBoy JB and Drake has been stuck in my head.

Making: I think I may have mentioned this before, but I hate making phone calls. If I could text everyone then I would, but unfortunately that is not possible. Do you prefer to talk on the phone or just text?

Feeling: I'm feeling so much better. My wisdom tooth is not bothering me anymore. Now I don't know if I should get the wisdom tooth removed before or after the baby comes. I plan on calling my dentist, doctor, and the surgeon in order to make a decision.

Planning: I have got to work on meal planning. I'm going to work on that today. I really failed at meal planning this month.

Loving: You all know that I'm all about naps. I'm still dealing with pregnancy insomnia so I try to take as much naps as I possibly can.

My Friend Fear: Finding Magic in the Unknown - Book Review

Happy Monday! Last week, I finally finished reading My Friend Fear by Meera Lee Patel. I was so excited when I found out that Meera wrote this book. I am a big fan of Meera's work and I even reviewed her diary/planner which you can read here. You can call it fate or just simply good timing, but I found out about this book at a perfect time.

Lately, I've been really into self-help and inspiring books. This book is filled with beautiful watercolor paintings and quotes as well as Meera's personal story on fear. I could relate to Meera and found myself nodding in agreement to a lot of things that I read.

The main reason that it took me so long to finish reading this book is that I ended up taking notes while reading. I also wanted to take my time reading the book. Have you ever found and read a book and just didn't want it to end? My Friend Fear definitely had me feeling this way. I learned to look at fear in a different way and this book really inspired me to work on some projects that I have been putting aside due to fear.

If you'd like to learn more about Meera Lee Patel, you can find her on various social media platforms as well as her website. Check out the links below to see her work.

Currently Mini Tag Album

Happy Wednesday! Today I'm over at The Awesome Ladies Project with another take on this month's chapter, Currently. Instead of making another scrapbook layout, I decided to make a mini tag album. You can check out the rest of my album and get more information on how I made this album here. Below are some images of my mini tag album.

Are you working on any projects? Have you ever made a mini album?

Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another currently list!

Watching: I watched the latest episode of Here and Now and I think that it's a pretty good show. This new series is about a multi-racial family in Portland. So far the storylines for the characters have been really great.

Reading: I've been reading lots of news articles and blog posts. I think I'm going to accomplish my reading goal for this month.

Listening: Preguntas by Danay Suarez is one of my favorite songs. I say this all the time, but Danay's songs are amazing.

Making: I'm still working on blog posts and really hope that I can get a lot of blog posts done before my baby's arrival.

Feeling: So apparently my wisdom tooth decided that now is the perfect time to start causing me trouble. Luckily, I only have on wisdom tooth and it's crazy that it's causing problems now. I've always heard that it usually causes problems in people ages 17-25. I'm hoping that I can get an appointment soon.

Planning: We already have all the major things that we will need for our baby so now we just have to buy clothing and some other supplies.

Loving: It's been in the upper 60s and I have been loving it. I'm hoping that the weather stays this way because I am so over winter.

Babies R Us Great Trade-In Event

Hooray! It's here! The Babies R Us Great Trade-In Event finally started! You guys have no idea how excited we were for this event.

For every eligible baby gear or furniture item that you trade in, you will receive a 25% off coupon for the purchase of a new item. If you have a "R" Us credit card, then you will receive a 30% off coupon for the purchase of a new item. Also if you do not have an item to trade in then you can get 15% off any one baby item with the coupon. This year, Babies R Us is even allowing customers to receive 25% off eligible clothing purchase if customers donate gently used baby clothing.

Below are the baby gear and furniture items that you can trade in:

  • Bassinets
  • Bouncers
  • Car Seats
  • Car Seat bases
  • Cribs
  • Crib/Toddler mattresses
  • Entertainers
  • High chairs
  • Infant seats
  • Infant swings
  • Jumpers
  • Playards
  • Strollers
  • Toddler/twin beds
  • Travel Systems
  • Walkers
On Friday, John and I decided to trade in some items. We traded in two convertible car seats and purchased the travel system that we wanted as well as a nursery center (playard). The playard that we purchased comes with a mattress pad, full size removable bassinet, changing table, and an electronic soother. In addition to using the 25% coupon on each of the baby gear, we were able to stack our 15% off completion coupon (from our baby registry) on every item that we purchased on that day. So we basically got 40% off our travel system and the playard.

There was also a really good baby sale going on that was not related to the trade in event. If you make a $75 baby purchase (i.e. diapers, wipes, etc.) then you can receive a $20 Babies R Us gift card. We bought two boxes of The Honest Company diapers, two boxes of Babyganics wipes which were already buy 1, get 1 50% off, and two packs of Pampers Swaddlers diapers. We used several coupons on the baby items and we also received 15% each item that was purchased.

We saved almost $300 and only spent a little over $500! Since every item we purchased was on our baby registry, we will also receive cash back about 12 weeks after our baby's arrival.

If you or someone you know is currently expecting a baby, I highly recommend that you check out the trade in event and take advantage of all the baby registry benefits that Babies R Us offers.

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

*This is not a sponsored post. I just really love Babies R Us and I was so excited with how much we saved and thought it would be great to pass on some information.*

Currently List

Happy Valentine's Day! It's time for another Currently List.

Watching: I love this movie. The storyline was great and I really liked the acting in this film. Have you watched Burnt?

Reading: As usual, I'm reading lots of blog posts. I also picked up A Wrinkle in Time from my local library and can't wait to read it. I think I may have read it when I was a kid, but that was such a long time ago. I thought it would be great to read the book before I go watch the movie.

Listening: Quien Manda by Mala Rodriguez and Rapsusklei is such a great song. It's a older song, but I still love it.

Making: Of course, I waited until the last minute to make Valentine's Day gifts. Luckily, I got them done in time.

Feeling: I've been so busy. I'm still getting a lot of stuff done at the house in preparation for our little one and I'm still shopping for the baby. There's so much stuff that I want and need to get done. I really want to be done by mid April so that I can relax as much as I can before the baby comes. Wish me luck on getting everything done in time.

Planning: I'm planning to write some blog posts for May because I'm planning on taking at least a month off from blogging. It would be great to have some posts drafted and edited so that all I have to do is just schedule the posts and not worry about actually writing anything.

Loving: Normally, I'm not a big fan of flowers, but lately I have been loving them. I think I'm just ready for Spring so whenever I see bouquets, I get really excited. I also have an idea that involves flowers (yea I know another project) and I can't wait to start working on it.

A Day Date at Newk's - Project Life Layout

It's been a long time since I made a Project Life layout so I'm really excited to share this little layout I made.

Last week, John and I went to a new-to-me restaurant called Newk's and it was amazing! If you are ever in Georgia, I highly recommend that you go to Newk's. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious!

To make this layout, I decided to keep things simple. I used two Studio Calico project life cards and some Studio Calico alpha stickers. I used a Freckled Fawn kit and a few other little embellishments to complete the layout.

I really love making simple and smaller layouts. I've noticed that I'm not as overwhelmed with the smaller format and I usually finish the layout in about an hour.

The Awesome Ladies Project - Book of Me Workshop

Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited to share this really awesome workshop from The Awesome Ladies ProjectThe Book of Me workshop is an amazing year long course where participants share their stories. There is no right or wrong way to complete this workshop. You can choose to use a mini album, a travelers notebook, journal, notebook, hybrid album, photo album, etc. for your individual Book of Me project. The only thing that you have to do is be open and honest with your storytelling.

It took me a while to decide which format I wanted to use for my Book of Me. I thought about my One Little Word and decided that I'm going to use my Moleskine sketchbook for this workshop. Many of you may know that my word for the year is grow. The three main goals that I hope to accomplish this year is to grow as a writer, grow as a creative, and grow as a person. The Book of Me workshop is a fantastic way to help me along the way to my journey of growing.

This month's Book of Me chapter is Currently. You all know how much I love currently lists so I thought it was only right to use a currently list card in this layout. Now you may be surprised to see that I actually made a scrapbook layout instead of something in my sketchbook. However, I do plan to journal in my sketchbook and will share that at a later date.

As for this layout, I decided to document my birthday. Every year, I make a birthday scrapbook layout and I thought it would be perfect to document the things that I am currently doing now. I think it will be great to look back at the things that I was doing on my birthday.

To make this layout, I used a bunch of items and kits from Freckled Fawn, a pink currently list, and a few other embellishments. I also used a selfie that was taken a day before my birthday (I decided to celebrate all week long).

Check out The Awesome Ladies Project's blog for more information on how I created this layout, more information on the currently lists, and to learn more about the Book of Me workshop.

Do you plan to participate in the Book of Me workshop?

Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List.

Watching: I probably should have read the book first, but I did like the movie. I plan on reading the book soon.

Reading: I'm still reading My Friend Fear and I am loving it. I've been taking some notes and answering some of the questions that are in the book. I'm so glad that I found out about this book. I can't wait to share my review soon.

Listening: I just heard This Town by Kygo featuring Sasha Sloan for the first time today. I really like the melody.

Making: I've been working on a few simple greeting cards and I've also been journaling. I got a few new supplies and have been using them on lots of projects.

Feeling: I came up with a crazy idea/project and I am determined to complete it. I'm a bit nervous, but excited to work on it.

Planning: I need to make to make time to work on my project so I have to just sit down and come up with a schedule.

Loving: I'm not a football fan, but I am loving the football memes that are popping up in Facebook.

All About Love Q & A

Happy Monday! I've said it before and I'll say it again: I absolutely love The Blended Blog's monthly questionnaires. This month's questionnaire is all about love and Valentine's Day. I love reading everyone's responses to the questionnaires so I thought it'd be fun to share mine as well.

1. Kisses or Hugs? It depends on the person. With my husband and kids, both. Everyone else usually gets a hug or a wave.

2. Candy or Flowers? Flowers...even though I'm horrible at keeping plants and flowers alive.

3. Baking or Cooking? Baking...always baking. I hate cooking, but I have to do it because...you know I have kids and a husband lol.

4. Do you remember your first kiss? Unfortunately yes.

5. Favorite color of roses? White roses

6. Conversation Hearts, Yes or No? No

7. Do you leave love notes? Sometimes

8. Do you decorate for Valentine's Day? Not really, but I do put up the arts and crafts that my kids make. That counts for decorating...right?

9. Red or Pink? Neither...red and pink are not my favorite colors.

10. Milk, White or Dark Chocolate? Milk chocolate

11. Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes. When I first saw John, I just knew that I was going to marry him. And now look at us! This month will mark 10 years together and in July we will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.

12. Do you give Humorous or Serious Valentine Cards? Humorous

13. Favorite Chick Flick or Romantic Movie? This is a tough one. I'm not really into romantic movies, but I really love The Age of Adaline, Tristan & Isolde, Sweet November, and West Side Story.

14. Stay In or Go Out? Stay In
