Target Finds

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

This is one of my favorite children's books. When I saw that there was a board book version, I knew I just had to buy it. Raphael really loves the book. It was on sale, and I was also able to use a discount on the Cartwheel app.

Conair T-Shirt Towel

I have wanted to buy this kind of towel for a long time. I'm continuing to take care of my curly hair. I heard that t-shirt towels are excellent for curly hair, so I decided to go ahead and try it out.

And I'm so glad that I did because I love it! It's so soft and absorbent. It's easy to use, and it really does work.

Skintimate Bloom

This is a great razor. The textured rubber grip handle makes it very easy to hold on to. The design is simple but functional. It's very easy to replace the cartridge. I highly recommend this razor.

Smartwater (Watermelon Mint)

I was so disappointed with this. I'm a fan of Smartwater, but this flavor was terrible. It tasted like stale bubblegum. There was a hint of mint, but I didn't taste watermelon at all. I'll just stick to regular Smartwater.

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd order our drinks to-go. We'd go for a walk and enjoy the weather. I'd tell you how happy I am to be outside and enjoy the fresh air.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd ask how you are feeling. Things have been difficult. The U.S. and the rest of the world are going through a lot. So much sadness and anger are floating around. I'd tell you that I am limiting how much news I'm watching. I still get updates via social media, so at least I am still aware of what is going on. I had to stop myself from watching the news (even on social media), it just wasn't good for my soul and mind.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm wondering if schools are actually going to open for the new school year. I've already pre-ordered my kids' school supplies, but now I'm wondering if the school year is going to be delayed. Maybe distance learning is still going to happen when the new school year starts.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm so ready for summer. I'm so excited to go to the pool, and maybe we'll be able to go on a vacation (damn coronavirus...ruining my plans). I really want to visit the Marietta Square Farmer's Market and all of my favorite spots to visit during summer.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm taking several creative classes and I've been enjoying them. I'm finally starting to get over this creative block. I'm not stressing over the "due dates" of assignments. I'm focusing more on completing the classes when I have the time. I'm trying to work on the courses three days a week. I'd ask you if you are currently taking any classes? If so, which ones?

If you and I had coffee...

I'd ask you what you are looking forward to in the next few weeks? Do you have any plans for the summer? How do you usually feel when the seasons are in the process of changing?

What would you tell me?

June Goals

Happy Monday! Another month has gone by! Last month went by so fast. There were so many things to celebrate. Michael turned 10, Mother's Day, and school is finally out for summer. We're really excited that school is out for summer and are hoping to have lots of fun this summer.

As much fun as we had last month, there have some difficult moments. I'm still dealing with my creative block. It's frustrating, but I have some classes that start today that I'm hoping will help deal with this struggle. Also, what I've seen on the news has been breaking my heart. There is just so much pain and rage...I can't even begin to explain it.

This month, I'm hoping for some more peace. I'm hoping to get over this creative block. I'm hoping to accomplish most, if not all, of my goals for the month.

With that being said, let's recap on my goals for May and check out my new goals for June.

Recap of May Goals
  • Read 5 books: I read over 20 books! A few of them were quick reads, but I'm still amazed that I've been reading so many books. I also need a better way to keep track of the books that I read. I use Goodreads, but sometimes I forget to add the dates.
  • Work in my journal: I worked in my journal, but not as much as I'd like. I'm considering this a pass since it's been an improvement.
  • Write personal pieces for the blog: This was a fail. Most of the pieces that I have worked on are not complete yet. Some of my essays don't have photos and vice versa. But I guess this can be considered kind of a pass?
  • Work on 1 Awesome Ladies Project: I'm currently taking the Find Your Voice course and just completed the first module and challenge for the course.
  • Try 1 new recipe: This was a fail. I have got to get it together. I swear I'll have most of the ingredients needed for the recipes, but then I'll miss one key ingredient.
  • Exercise 3 days a week: This was also a fail, but I did exercise. I need to come up with a set schedule. I'm sure it'll make it easier for me.
  • Drink more water: I don't know whether to consider this a pass or a fail. I didn't drink as much water as I'd like, but it was a significant improvement.

June Goals
  • Read 5 books
  • Work in my journal
  • Publish personal pieces for the blog
  • Work on Five Things e-course by Liz Lamoreux
  • Work on Studio Calico's Summer of Sketches 2020 class
  • Work on Find Your Voice lessons
  • Drink more water
  • Take more photographs
