Easter Fun with Crayola

Happy first day of Spring! I'm so excited that Spring has finally arrived. I'm so ready for warmer weather, sunshine, flowers, and Easter!

Are you currently looking for some Easter treats and goodies to fill your little ones baskets? I know I always have a hard time finding things to put in my kids' baskets especially now that they are getting a bit older. However, the sweet folks at Crayola came to the rescue and gave me some ideas. Now my kids' baskets are filled and I've hidden them for Easter morning.

Crayola Color Wonder Coloring Pad & Markers - Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig

The Color Wonder Coloring Pad and Markers has 18 pages and contains 5 color wonder markers. The markers only appears on the special paper, not on skin, clothing, or carpets. The pad works with all Color Wonder markers and paints.

I've been a big fan of the Color Wonder line for a while now so I was so excited to receive these. My boys are a bit older so I'm sure they will probably gift these two coloring pads to their cousins.

You can purchase Crayola Color Wonder Coloring Pad & Markers (Paw Patrol) here. The Crayola Color Wonder Coloring Pad & Markers (Peppa Pig) is available here. Check out the entire Color Wonder collection here.

Crayola Silly Putty BiGG Egg

The Silly Putty BiGG Egg is bouncy and stretchy reusable original play compound. It never dries out and is currently available in pastel colors which is perfect for Easter. Kids can use it to build or sculpt. Since the toy contains a quarter pound of silly putty, it is more than enough to share.

You can purchase Crayola's Silly Putty BiGG Egg here

Crayola Tie Dye, Neon, and Glitter Chalk

These chalks are perfect for outdoor fun. The tie dye chalks makes different colors every time they are used and there are five colors available in each pack. The neon chalk is very bright and the the glitter chalks sparkles. All three packs of chalk are washable so you don't have to worry about them being permanent. The chalks are also anti-roll so you don't have to worry about them rolling down driveways or other inclined surfaces. I love that Crayola did this because it shows that they care about our kids' safety.

You can purchase the tie dye chalk here. The neon and glitter chalks are available here and here.

Crayola Silly Putty - Original, Silly Scents, Silly Glow, and Super Bright

There is a variety of Crayola Silly Putty. The original silly putty contains the same compound that has been around since 1950. The putty is packed in an egg shaped container and is tan colored.

The Silly Scents Silly Putty has a secret scent. The scent will either be sweet or stinky. There are 12 scents and 8 different colors available.

The Silly Glow Silly Putty also contains the same compound, but it also glows in the dark.

The Silly Putty Super Brights has four different colors and also contains the same compound.

Check out the entire Silly Putty collection here.

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet somewhere that had spring or summer vibes. The drinks would be fruity and would be a welcome change from all of the hot beverages that I've been consuming. However, I'd probably select an iced caramel macchiato. We'd enjoy some cheesecake or pie.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that Mother Nature has been such a tease. We'll have a few days of sunshine and warm weather, but then the next day it will be incredibly cold and rainy. The worst part is that we've been having horrible and annoying weather on the weekends. Why does it have to be rainy, but warm?

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I've been wanting to read a book similar to Elevation by Stephen King. I'm currently reading I Really Didn't Think This Through: Tales From My So-Called Adult Life by Beth Evans and so far it's pretty good.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I've been working on a lot of projects and taking a couple of different courses. Right now, I'm taking a Skillshare class and I'm also working on my Get Messy projects. I'm always up for learning new things and I'm so grateful that I have memberships to both Skillshare and Get Messy.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I think I've finally found my word of the year and it's balance. It may be March, but I've been thinking of this word and what it means to me since the beginning of January. I've been working on balancing so many different areas of my life. I've been taking better care of myself and it definitely shows.

What would you tell me?

What I Read in February

Happy Wednesday! Last month, I accomplished my reading goal that I set for February. I read not one, but two books! I have been finding bits of time to read almost everyday. I'll read while Raphael is taking a nap or when I'm able to have some "me time". I was able to read two books because I took them with me during my chiropractor appointments and to the hair salon. Instead of just scrolling through my phone while I wait at appointments, I've been reading.

I'm really excited that I've been reading a lot more and it made me realize how much I really did miss reading a good book.

Below are the books and blog posts that I read.

Must Read

Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

This book was so good! This is Adjei-Brenyah's debut short story collection. The stories were a bit dark and many of them left me speechless. I don't even really know how to describe how some of the stories left me feeling. The stories were unique and dealt with racism, hate, violence, egos, capitalism, etc. I honestly believe that everyone should read this book. I would say that it's a necessary read.

Elevation by Stephen King

Oh my goodness! This is was such a great read! King described Elevation as a novella despite the cover stating that it was a novel. The story takes place in Castle Rock, Maine. The main character, Scott Carey, is dealing with an illness that is causing him to rapidly lose weight, without getting thinner. When he weighs himself, the scale registers the same number even if he has clothes on. While dealing with his illness, he is also having to figure out how to end his feud with his two new neighbors, Deidre and her wife Missy. The majority of the community disapproves of the couple, but the feud between the couple and Scott is over the couple's dogs dropping their business on his lawn.

I loved all of the characters and quickly became attached to them. The ending was absolutely amazing and sad. I was a little disappointed that the book wasn't longer, but the story was still wonderful.

March Goals

Happy Tuesday! I'm so excited that it's finally March. January was such a long month and February went by so fast. I'm really glad that February has come and gone. Last month was just too hectic and I felt so drained.

Since it's a new month, it's time to share my new goals March. Before we get to the new goals, let's recap February.

Recap of February Goals
  • Read 1 book: This was a pass! I finished two books this month. I read Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah and Elevation by Stephen King. I'll have a review of these books soon. I was able to read two books because I found bits of time throughout the day. Even if I was only able to read for five minutes, I still read. Instead of scrolling through Instagram at my appointments, I read my book.
  • Try 2 new recipes: This was a fail...again! I have got to do better.
  • Start a new workout routine: This was a fail. I have a workout routine set, but just haven't exercised as much as I'd like. I've been dealing with some pain which caused me to be unable to really exercise. I'm hoping that I'm able to start my workout routine this month.
March Goals
  • Read 1 book
  • Complete 1 class on Skillshare
  • Work on Get Messy Art Journal - Season of Creativity
  • Try 1 new recipe

What are your goals for March?

TBB Asks: Shopping Edition

Happy Monday! Today I'm linking up with The Blended Blog for TBB Asks. TBB Asks is a monthly questionnaire link up series.

1. Top 3 Shops? Target, H&M, and Old Navy. I've been going to Target a lot. I love that my local Target has a Starbucks in it. I recently went to H&M to buy some jeans and I was so happy to find that they actually had jeans that fit me!

2. Where is the majority of your shopping done- in store or online? The majority of my shopping is done in store. I don't like shopping online. Usually, if I order something online, it's usually books or something that is not clothing (or shoes). I hate when I order something online and it doesn't fit so then I have to go to the store. However, I have been ordering a few things for my boys online and every single thing has fit perfectly.

3. What's your favorite thing to shop for? I love buying graphic shirts for my husband and I. I also love shopping for baby clothes. Target has the cutest baby clothes ever and I also love their Cat & Jack kids' collection.

4. What do you just HATE shopping for? I hate shopping for jeans and leggings. I'm short so I always have the hardest time finding jeans and leggings that fit me. As I mentioned before, I went to H&M and was surprised to find jeans that are the right length and fit me perfectly. H&M might just be my go to shop for jeans. I haven't had any luck on finding leggings that fit so if you have any recommendations on shops, please let me know.

5. What's your most favorite thing you've ever bought? We recently upgraded our phones and got the iPhone XR and absolutely love it. I'm a bargain shopper so I was a bit shocked at the price, but it is so worth it! It's definitely a game changer and a very good investment.

6. Do you prefer shopping alone or with others? I prefer shopping alone. Whether it's grocery shopping or just shopping for clothes, I can get it done so much faster if I go shopping alone.

7. Best bargain? Target and Old Navy always has great deals on clothing. I actually stocked up on a bunch of basic t-shirts from the A New Day collection at Target. The Children's Place always has great deals on kids' clothing and is by far my favorite place to shop for my boys.

8. Thrift store shopping: Yes or No? Honestly, I haven't been thrift store shopping in such a long time. I have found a few things for great prices at thrift stores. I might just have to make a trip to the thrift store soon.

9. Best cities for shopping? New York City and the metro Atlanta area. There's lots of local boutiques and other shops in both of these cities.

10. Who's your style or fashion icon? I don't really have a fashion icon. I'm not really into fashion. I prefer wearing t-shirts, jeans (or leggings), and sneakers. I also wear a lot of activewear like yoga pants, leggings, and performance tees.
