Carnival Birthday Card

Hello! The circus is coming to town and since I love the circus and carnivals, I decided to make a carnival/circus themed birthday card.

I used a white card base and then adhered the dimensional ferris wheel and the stars. Then I added the washi tape at the bottom. That washi tape is awesome and definitely one of my top favorite washi tapes. I used a cut out sentiment and used my Tim Holtz distress markers to color in the letters. I made sure to use colors that matched the washi tape and the stickers.

I love the bright colors on this card and I love the ready-stamped greeting. It was so convenient to have and I loved that I didn't have to worry about selecting embellishments to spell out the sentiment.

Princess Birthday Card

Hello! Happy Monday! So I took a break from making Valentine's Day cards and made some more birthday cards. You can never have too many birthday cards. When I saw a bunch of princess themed embellishments in my stash, I knew that they would be perfect for birthday cards. I immediately thought of my niece because I call her Princess Gen. 

I used some papers from Crate Paper's Hello Love. I love that there are small pink hearts mixed in the polka dots. I used a sentiment that came in a few pack with a magazine that I purchased. The circle embellishments and the unicorn came from a Pink Paisley Bella Rouge chipboard sticker pack. Unfortunately, I can't remember where the Princess embellishment came from.

I can't wait to give my niece this card. I may even give it to her before it's her birthday. I think the sentiment could definitely work as an everyday, thinking of you, or just hoping you have a great day card rather than the obvious birthday card.

Turning 25 Years Old...

Hello! Today is my birthday and I am 25 years old now. Wow...I can't believe I'm a quarter of a century old. I decided to make a layout documenting this birthday. Usually, I may make a note of it in my Project Life album, but I decided to go a different route and just make a full, 8.5x11 layout describing what my likes and interests are at my age. I know that there are several bloggers and memory keepers who make similar posts about their birthdays, but I was inspired by Megan over at The Nerd Nest. Megan makes lists and layouts documenting her family's birthdays and I think it's an awesome idea to jot down lists, journal, etc. about important days such as birthdays.

At 25...

• I am finally watching Star Wars...and it's not so bad. R2D2 is my favorite!
• I am obsessed with Game of Thrones. Tyrion is the best character!
• My favorite song right now is Milly Rock. It's so catchy and I love the dance!
• I'm reading lots of books by comedians like Mindy Kaling and Amy Poehler.
• I am still figuring out life and that is ok.
• I am loving ice caramel macchiatos. And to think that I thought I would hate it!
• I am still trying to worry less, slow down, and live in the moment

I'm loving those enamel dots and washi tape. I'm a bit obsessed with tags at the moment so I used one that I received in a giveaway. That "celebrate life" sentiment is on point! I'm also loving those thickers from American Crafts.

I'm loving the American Crafts Celebrate thickers. I really like that the numbers in the pack are not the same and come in various colors. I'm starting to get into the whole mixing of patterns in my projects. Overall, I love how the layout turned out and I definitely plan to make more of these type of layouts for my family and myself.

Birthday Card and Project Life Birthday Card

Hello! Can you believe that it's November? Halloween is over <insert sad face here>, but that's ok. The holidays are almost here and I am so excited. I have been making so many projects the past few weeks and I think it's due to the changing season. It may sound weird, but I've noticed that during the Fall, I tend to want to make a ton of projects.

I'm trying to use up my Simple Stories Snap Pack so I have been making a lot of birthday themed projects. Today, I want to share another birthday card that I made as well as a Project Life birthday card.

For this card, I used a small journaling card from Simple Stories Birthday Snap Pack. I believe it is either a 2x2 or 3x3 card. I decided to use some foam dots on the journaling card so that it would have dimension. Then I adhered it to the center of my card base. Then I added some die cuts. I used my Tombow Xtreme Adhesive to adhere the die cuts to my card.

This project life card was very simple to make. I just chose a card from the Simple Stories Birthday Snap Pack and a die cut. Then I used some foam dots on the die cut and adhered it to the journaling card. This card would be perfect to use in Project Life, mini album, or I could just make another card using this project life card.
