Three Things - November

Happy Monday! I haven't posted as much as I would like this month. I'm starting to get over this really horrible cold that I've had for the past couple of weeks. Last weekend, Raphael was not feeling well, and we stayed at home all weekend. This is not how I thought November was going to be, but that's ok.

Once again, I'm sharing my responses to Steph's Three Things Q & A prompts.

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at Starbucks and try one of the seasonal drinks. I've been drinking a lot of toasted white chocolate mochas. It's the perfect winter/Christmas drink. We'd also get a couple of pastries and enjoy staying indoors. The weather has been a bit unpredictable, so who knows if it's going to be too cold or not.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I said goodbye to breastfeeding, and I'm still having some mixed feelings about it. I know that it was time to stop, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't been a bit difficult. Thankfully, Raphael is doing fine, and he was only a little upset during the first couple of days. I think it bothered me more than him. The physical and emotional pain was almost too much. The emotional pain was the worst.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am so excited about the upcoming holidays, especially Christmas. As soon as Halloween was over, I was in full Christmas mode. I've already started my holiday shopping. No procrastinating over here!

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm really starting to think about writing on other platforms. I've been enjoying being a contributor for the Atlanta Area Moms Blog. I'm thinking about publishing some work on Medium and a couple of other online platforms.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that lately, my head has been filled with so many ideas. I've been writing and creating a lot in my sketchbook. I just have a lot to say, and it feels so good to put those thoughts and rambles down on paper.

What would you tell me?

Atlanta Area Moms Blog

Happy Monday! Today I'm over at The Atlanta Area Moms Blog with a new post. I'm sharing my thoughts on saying goodbye to breastfeeding. This was such an emotional piece for me to share. I wasn't sure whether or not to share this story, but ultimately, I thought it was important for me to do so.

Please feel free to check out my post and tell me what you think.

What I Read in October

Last month, I accomplished my reading goal. I read two amazing books. And I just realized that both of the books that I read are graphic novels.

Once again, I was so behind on reading blogs and articles, so I'm going to have to skip my list of blog posts recommendations this time.

Let's check out what I read in October.

Must Read

I read this on Halloween. It was a quick read, but the stories were incredible! There are five short horror stories. Some of the stories were so spooky and creepy. I do wish that some of the stories were a bit longer because they were just too good. The illustrations were fantastic. I plan on purchasing a copy for myself.

Pumpkinheads was a quick read. I read it in one day. The story was so cute, and the illustrations were perfect. The story is about two friends, Deja and Josiah, who only see each other during the Fall at their local pumpkin patch. This will be their last time working together at the pumpkin patch because they are seniors. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil the story. Overall, I highly recommend this book. It's perfect for Fall.

This was the first book by Rainbow Rowell that I read, and I can't wait to read the next one. I would love for Rainbow to make this a series.

What did you read in October?

November Goals

Happy Monday! Halloween is over, and now it's November. How is the year almost over?

October was such a fun month. We crossed off a bunch of things on our Fall Bucket List. We went to the boys' school Fall festival, attended my brother-in-law's wedding, survived the long drive to the wedding (with the boys!), carved our pumpkin, I got a much-needed haircut, and watched so many Fall and Halloween themed shows and movies.

This month is going to be busy due to the holidays, but I'm so glad that I already started preparing for all of the holiday fun. Even though it's going to be a busy month, I still have a few goals that I am hoping to accomplish. Before we get to my new goals for November, let's check out what I accomplished in October.

Recap of October Goals
  • Read 2 books: I accomplished my reading goal! I read Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. Both of these books were perfect for Fall and Halloween. I loved both of these books.
  • Finish Get Messy Season of Habit: I am happy to say that I completed the Season of Habit. I only missed three days of the challenge, but I consider it a success. Sometimes I have a hard time completing these types of month-long challenges. I learned so much during this challenge. I plan on writing a blog post about what I learned and created soon.
  • Start a new journal: I didn't start a new journal. I still have a few pages left, so I will definitely start a new journal this month.
  • Stay active 3 days a week (and actually keep track of it): Unfortunately, I did not keep track of this goal. I will say that I know for a fact that I did not stay active as much as I would have liked. I'm a bit disappointed, but I am going to continue to work on this goal.
  • Try 1 new recipe: This was a fail. I really have to get it together.
  • Write more (Essays, poems, blog posts, etc.): I'm not sure whether to call this a pass or a fail. I didn't write as much as I'd like because I had writer's block, but I did work in my journal.
  • Work on a new art project: I worked in my Fall mini travelers notebook. It's been so much fun making mini layouts.
November Goals
  • Read 2 books
  • Start a new journal
  • Stay active (and keep track of it!)
  • Try 1 new recipe
  • Take 1 Skillshare class
  • Work on another new art project
  • Finish my Fall mini traveler's notebook

What are your goals for November?
