Winter 2021 Bucket List

Happy Wednesday! The first day of winter was December 21st, but it didn't feel like winter. The past few days, we've had temperatures in the 70s, and it's just bizarre. In fact, this entire holiday season has been strange. Christmas looked really different for us because we were sick, but we still celebrated at home.

I decided it would be fun to share a winter bucket list to celebrate winter's arrival. I realized that this was the first year I shared a seasonal bucket list for every season, and I'm pleased about that. I'm not sure how this season will go, but I really hope that I can check off as many things on my bucket list as I can.

  • Try new flavors of hot chocolate
  • Try 3 new recipes
  • Go for a walk on the Silver Comet Trail
  • Organize the closets
  • Donate clothing and other things that we no longer use or need
  • Watch holiday movies
  • Have a weekly game night
  • Work in my sketchbook/journal
  • Finish my 2021 December Daily mini-album
  • Finish my 2020 December traveler's notebook
  • Take more photos
  • Participate in a book challenge
  • Use the crockpot more
  • Do something new for my birthday
  • Publish 3 personal essays on the blog
  • Catch up on my Project Life album
  • Submit an article to a magazine
  • Watch the Witcher
  • Watch a new (or new-to-me) movie

What's on your winter bucket list?

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

Happy Sunday! Today I'm linking up with Charlotte, Lindsay, and Beth for their weekly happy and grateful list link up.

1. Celebrating Christmas - This year, Christmas was a bit different for us as I'm sure it was for many families. John, Raphael, and I were sick. Gabriel and Michael were feeling ok. We didn't get to do a few traditional Christmas activities, but we still managed to have fun.

2. My family - They mean the world to me.

3. The Witcher - We watched the first two episodes of the second season, and it was so good!

4. Reading - In the last few days, I've started reading so many new books.

5. Free ebooks

6. Hot Chocolate - I'm still determined to try as many different flavors of hot chocolate as I can.

7. Awesome Christmas clearance sales at Target

8. The moon - A few days ago, the moon looked incredibly enormous and beautiful. I first had to do a double-take because I was caught off guard.

9. All the holiday baked goods and treats

10. Resting - We are still feeling sick, but thankfully we are starting to feel better. Resting and relaxing at home definitely helped a lot.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

The Ronettes are singing "Sleigh Ride" and I'm bouncing around my dining room as I sing along. I should probably fold the mountain of laundry currently in the basket, but I'm going to continue to act like I didn't see it.

John, Michael, and Gabriel are playing video games. I always laugh at how excited they get when they win.

My tiny tornado, Raphael, admires the Christmas tree while trying to sneak a few candy canes. He's at the age where he knows about Santa and is excited about the holidays.

I remember a conversation I had with Mami about Christmas Eve. We will be spending Christmas Eve over at Mami's house, and I'm so grateful that we live close by. I can't even imagine having to travel for the holidays. It just sounds stressful and not fun at all.

I'm currently drinking a toffee nut hot chocolate. I've been consuming so much hot chocolate. For some reason, I've been trying so many different flavors of hot chocolate, and I really love hot chocolate bombs.

Michael Bublé is now singing "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" and I wish it did. I would appreciate it if Mother Nature could just let us have some snow. There's no snow, but the holiday vibes are in full force. For now, I will just enjoy the twinkling lights, hot chocolate, cozy slippers, and holiday pajamas.

I'm reading all the holiday romance books and am trying to decide which holiday movie I want to watch next. Should I go with a classic or a more recent film? Maybe an animated film? Decisions, decisions.

I'm trying to decide which holiday treat I want to make. I want to bake some cookies, but I also want to make Christmas Crack. I think I may just make one treat a day. I'll probably tell John to take some with him to work. I'll most certainly make way too much.

Now Wham! is crooning "Last Christmas." It's a bit of a turn from the happy Christmas songs I've been listening to, but this is a classic. You never skip Last Christmas. Never.

Speaking of Last Christmas. It will be a 2.0 Covid Christmas, but you know what, that's ok. It can still be a fun Christmas. New traditions can be started while keeping some of the old ones. We are continuing our tradition of wearing Christmas pajamas, but we are also considering starting a new tradition of wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.

I hope you find the magic of Christmas. If you need a little pick-me-up, listen to some Christmas songs. Try to find some new covers of your old favorites, or stick with listening to your favorite holiday songs.

Here's to the holiday season. May it be filled with love and laughter, and magic.

Target Finds

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another Target Finds! Christmas is almost here and I am in a festive mood. I've found so many great things at Target. Their seasonal items are the best. You may notice that most of my current Target Finds are holiday-themed or are gifts, but 'tis the season and all that good stuff.

Well, let's check out my current favorite Target finds.

Snowman Mug

I don't need any more mugs, but I couldn't resist picking up this adorable mug. It's so cute and festive. I've used it for all of the hot chocolate that I've been devouring. At $5, it was reasonably priced, and the quality is excellent.

Baby Shark Toddler Bedding Set

I thought we would be safe from the Baby Shark crave, but alas, Raphael is now a fan of Baby Shark. Honestly, it's not as annoying as some people think it is. Anyways, I saw this toddler bedding set and decided to get it for my little prince. The look on his face when he saw his new bedding was everything.

Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman

I have been waiting for what felt like forever for this book to be released. I haven't read the book yet, but I quickly flipped through the book and loved what I saw.

Hot Chocolate Marshmallow Swirl Ice Cream

Oh my goodness! I was so excited to try this ice cream. If the words Hot Chocolate are listed in any seasonal treat, I am here for it. This ice cream was so delicious, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. It should be available year-round instead of every fall/winter.  My only hope is that this ice cream is brought back again next year.

Overall, I found some great things at Target. As usual, I saved on all of my Target Finds by using the app, buying items on sale, and price-matching.

What are some of your favorite Target finds?

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at Starbucks and get some seasonal drinks. I'd probably order a Cinnamon Dolce Latte (or Hot Chocolate). Lately, I've been on a hot chocolate kick, but I can never resist a seasonal coffee drink. We'd order a couple of pastries and enjoy our food inside. The weather has been a bit frightful (sadly, no snow, just rain and cold), so indoors will be best.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am in the holiday spirit. I'm way more excited this year than I was last year. I've been devouring hot chocolate and all the seasonal treats. I'm planning to wrap presents sooner rather than later (it's such a pain wrapping gifts on Christmas Eve), and I've been watching many holiday movies and listening to Christmas music. 'Tis the season, indeed.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am trying to decide how I want to spend my birthday. It's in the first week of January, but I'm feeling excited about it. I've been reflecting a lot on this year, especially since this was a milestone birthday for me (I still can't believe that I'm 30 and will be 31 in a few weeks).

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I've already started planning for the new year. I want to write more and share more personal pieces, so I think that will be a big goal for me in 2022. I want to share more on my blog and on Instagram. I'm even considering creating a newsletter.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I have so many books that I'm so excited to read. I just got Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman. This was one of the books I've been waiting to be released. I also need to read Untamed by Glennon Doyle and work in the journal. I'll definitely post a review on these two books soon. FYI, I think I'm going to share more book reviews soon. It's been such a long time since I posted a book review on the blog.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm so glad that we were able to catch up. I hope you enjoy the holidays and spend time with your family and friends. May the rest of this year be full of fun, magic, and comfort for you. See you next year for our next coffee chat.

What would you tell me?

December Goals

Happy Wednesday! I'm a bit late posting my December goals, but better late than never. You know what they say, it's the most wonderful and busy time of the year. I probably shouldn't set too many goals this month, but most of the plans and goals are things that I want to accomplish before the month and the year ends. Speaking of the year ending...how in the world is it already December? I can't believe that it will be 2022 soon.

Last month was a little busy. I had several appointments and some holiday shopping to get done. I worked on many crafty projects, primarily my One Little Word album. I wanted to take daily Instax photos for my One Little Word album, but I did miss a few days. Although I didn't take Instax photos every day, I'm pleased with how many I did take and even more glad that on the days that I didn't take any photos using my Instax camera, I used my phone.

November was the month of family and being grateful. We celebrated Thanksgiving at Mami's house and had a great time. I had a long talk with my younger sister. This really needed to be done, but we are now at a better place, and I'm happy about it. A few days after Thanksgiving, I saw my cousin, Joselyn, for the first time in a few years. It was so lovely to catch up with her.

Well, since we are well past the first week of December, let's check out my goals for December and how I did in November.

Recap of November Goals

  • Read 5 books: I read a ton of books in November. I've been on a Christmas short story kick, which is odd because I rarely read any Christmas/holiday-themed books, even during the holiday season. If I do, I usually read A Christmas Carol and then call it done as far as holiday books go.
  • Read 4 books that I need to review soon: I read and reviewed Wide Awake by Anna Fury, Quiet Night Think: Poems & Essays by Gillian Sze, I Hope This Finds You Well by Kate Baer, and A Terrible, Horrible, No Good Year: Hundreds of Stories on the Pandemic by Six-Word Memoirs.
  • Post 1 personal piece on the blog: The only personal piece that I posted was my monthly review/list. You can read that here.
  • Try 1 new recipe: Mission accomplished! I repeat, mission accomplished! I finally tried a new recipe! I made fried fish for dinner, and it was so good. It was so simple to make, and I tried some new (to me) seasonings. I definitely plan on making it again soon.
  • Work on my Christmas traveler's notebook (Bonus if I actually complete it this month): I can't remember if I did work on my 2020 Christmas traveler's notebook, so I'm just going to assume that I didn't. I definitely know that I did not finish that notebook.
  • Work on my Autumn Moments traveler's notebook: I did work on my Autumn Moments traveler's notebook, and I only have a few pages left in the notebook. This will be the first traveler's notebook from Studio Calico that I actually finish.
  • Work on my One Little Word album: I am all caught up on my One Little Word album. It's been fun working on the monthly prompts. I love how chunky my mini album is getting.
  • Catch up on my Project Life album: I'm not 100% caught up on my Project Life album, but I did work on it. I'm currently trying to determine what size I want to work on for next year's Project Life album. I'm considering using a 6x12 album or a 6x8 album. I am leaning towards a 6x8 album since I have two albums in that size, but I still have plenty of 6x12 page protectors. Decisions, decisions.

December Goals
  • Read 5 books
  • Read 2 books that I should have finished a while ago
  • Read 3 books that I need to review soon
  • Try 1 new recipe
  • Finish my Autumn Moments travelers notebook
  • Finish my 2020 Christmas travelers notebook
  • Work on my 2021 Christmas mini-album
  • Complete my One Little Word album
  • Catch up on my Project Life album

November 2021 // A List

November was a month full of gratitude.

November mainly was an unproductive month.

November was full of mixed emotions.

November was all about standing up for myself.

November was all about caramel brulée lattes, white chocolate mochas, and hot chocolate bombs.

November was the beginning of getting into the holiday spirit.

I found myself in nature again, and it was so needed.

November felt like a cozy, warm mug of hot chocolate while wrapped up in a comforting hug.

November was a month of lots of family walks.

November was a little bit worrisome, but with an overwhelming (and much needed) amount of hope.

November was a slow month, yet it went by so fast.

November was just what I needed.

Goodbye November. You were a much-needed month. I'm glad it was a good month.

Hello December. I hope this year, it really is the most wonderful time of the year for everyone.

Target Finds

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another Target Finds! I've found so many great things at Target over the past few weeks. Most of the items were things that we needed, but a few things that I bought were things that I wanted to try.

Let's check out my current favorite Target finds.

I had to buy a new hand mixer because I couldn't find the attachments to my old one. This Hamilton hand mixer works very well. I really love that it came with a case, so at least now I won't lose the attachments (and no, I still haven't found the ones for my old hand mixer). This hand mixer came with several attachments, including standard beaters and a whisk. I've already used this hand mixer, and it works very well. If you're not really into baking but need something for days when you decide to bake, I highly recommend this hand mixer. It's inexpensive, easy to use, and the quality is excellent.

Rael Beauty Miracle Acne Pimple Patch Invisible Spot Cover + Spot Control Cover Duo

I randomly saw this on sale and noticed a deal on the app, so I decided to buy these. I was really intrigued when I saw that it was an invisible spot cover. I've never tried this brand before or a blemish/acne patch spot cover. Hopefully, it works. I'll probably post a review on this soon.

I decided to buy a forehead thermometer after the boys got sick a few times. This thing is handy, and it's so much easier to use, especially on younger children. It's accurate, and I love that it's easy to read. Overall, it gets the job done.

This little snack was delicious! I am now hooked on Biscoff Cookie Butter. I'm not even sure what made me want to buy the Biscoff Cookie Butter and Breadsticks, but I'm so glad that I did. 10/10 would recommend. The jar of Biscoff Cookie Butter is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it.

Overall, I found some great things at Target. As usual, I saved on all of my Target Finds by using the Cartwheel app and buying items on sale.

What are some of your favorite Target Finds?

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd probably meet up at Starbucks and order one of their seasonal drinks. I love the Caramel Brulée Latte and the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha. The seasonal hot chocolates are also so good.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm looking forward to the holiday season. I love that the stores have their holiday displays out. I've already started my holiday shopping. I'm hoping to be done with that by the end of this month. I just want to relax for the rest of the holiday season. I'm also looking forward to getting some matching Christmas pajamas. We bought our last ones at Target, and hopefully, we can find some nice ones there again.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I've been working on my memory-keeping projects. I'm actually almost done with my Autumn 2021 travelers notebook. I'm currently working on my One Little Word album. I've been taking an Instax every day. It's been a great way to practice using my Instax Mini 90 camera and a fantastic way to document something good every day.

I'm still trying to decide which format I'm going to use to document December. There are just way too many options, and I have so many supplies. I love the idea of making a mixed media mini album with some binder rings. I could add photos, ephemera, paint, etc., and not really worry about bulk.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm already starting to plan for next year. Most of the planning is related to my blog and writing for Atlanta Mom. I'm thinking about submitting work to some other blogs and magazines. I'm also planning to take some art classes as well. I've been really interested in Laura Horn's art classes.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I'm so glad that we were able to meet up and chat. It's always great to catch up. I hope you have a great day and that you are excited about the upcoming holidays. I hope you accomplish your goals and wish you nothing but the best and good vibes.

What would you tell me?

November Goals

Happy Wednesday! It's November, and the year is almost over! And I'm still processing 2020, but this year has been way better than 2020, so I'll take it. October was an interesting month with some good days and bad days. There were some tears but so much joy as well. It was definitely an emotional rollercoaster, but I learned so much.

In October, we went to the Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival, Still Family Farm, and celebrated Halloween. I was so happy that we got some trick-or-treaters this year. Michael and Gabriel dressed up as ghostbusters, and Raphael dressed up as a dalmatian. They looked adorable. We still have tons of candy.

This month, I'm hoping to take an Instax photo a day as a part of my One Little Word project. I'm also hoping to finish up some other memory-keeping projects like my 2020 Christmas travelers notebook (yes, I still haven't finished it). I'm also hoping to work on my journal.

Recap of October Goals

  • Read 5 books: I accomplished this goal. I think I actually read more in October than I did in September. I think I read about 40 books in October. Most of those books were short stories and books that I needed to review for Netgalley. I do count short stories as part of my reading goal, which is why I usually have a large number of books read in a month. My favorite reads of the month were Welcome to the Grief Club by Janine Kwoh, Murder Book: A Graphic Memoir of a True Crime Obsession by Hilary Fitzgerald Campbell, and Midlife Halloween Shift by J.L. Wilder,
  • Read 3 books that I need to review soon: I reviewed 5 books in October. Most of the books were really great. I'm still working through some more books that I need to finish reading and then review.
  • Catch up on my One Little Word project: I am finally caught up with my One Little Word project! I'm really excited at how chunky my album is getting, and I'm pleased about this month's prompt. November's prompt may just be my favorite prompt from the project.
  • Post 2 personal pieces on the blog: I only posted one personal essay on the blog. I'm not counting my usual pieces like my "If You and I Had Coffee..." and monthly goals. You can check out the essay that I posted here.
  • Try 2 new recipes: I can't even remember if I made anything new, so it's safe to say that I most likely didn't try any new recipes. I really need to get it together.
  • Work on my Christmas travelers notebook: I didn't work on my Christmas travelers notebook, but I did work on my Autumn Moments travelers notebook. I plan on working on my Christmas travelers notebook this month, and I'm hoping to complete it before this year ends.
  • Catch up on my Project Life album: I worked on my Project Life album, but I still need to catch up on my album. Thankfully, I only have a few layouts to complete.

November Goals

  • Read 5 books
  • Read 4 books that I need to review soon
  • Post 1 personal piece on the blog
  • Try 1 new recipe
  • Work on my Christmas travelers notebook (Bonus if I actually complete it this month)
  • Work on my Autumn Moments travelers notebook
  • Work on my One Little Word album
  • Catch up on my Project Life album

Life Lately

October is almost over! My oh my, does the time go by so fast. I can't believe 2021 is almost over. This year hasn't been as crazy as 2020, but it still feels weird. I am still trying to get in the hang of my new routine and my new normal (that sounds so strange to say), but I'm getting there.

We have been going to a lot of fall festivals and events. A couple of weeks ago, we went to the Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival. We also went to the North Georgia State Fair. Last week, we went to Still Family Farm and had a blast. We loved the hayride, the pumpkin patch, and the Zinnia Maze. I was really excited to see the Zinnias, but unfortunately, many of the flowers were dead. However, we were still able to see some beautiful flowers. I'll definitely have to visit during spring and summer. I'm sure it'll look gorgeous during that time of year. We bought a few things at the market as well. Their homemade pumpkin muffin was delicious.

John and I are slowly watching Lucifer, and we still have to catch up on some more of our favorite shows. I recently watched After We Collided on a random day while folding laundry. I enjoyed the movie and can't wait to watch the next one in the series. I keep hearing about Duneand I'm considering watching it, but I think I should probably read the book first.

I've been on a roll with reading. I've already surpassed my reading goal. I'm currently reading Welcome to the Grief Club by Janine Kwoh, and this is a book that I definitely need in my life. I've mentioned before that I'm still grieving the death of my baby brother. I don't think I will ever stop grieving the loss of my brother. Now that I have children and see them hit milestones, I find myself thinking about my baby brother more than ever.

Grief is definitely a strange thing. I feel like grief comes in waves...at least for me. Throughout the years, I've noticed that the ways that I grieve are different. There are days, months, years where grieving is not so bad, but then there are days where it's just really hard. There are so many things that I relate to the things that Janine talks about in her book. Currently, I'm halfway through the book, but I'm telling you right now that I highly recommend this book.

I've been listening to a lot of music by Eurille. She definitely gives me Enya vibes, and I love it. I randomly found out about Eurille after listening to Too Hotty by Migos. I know, it's super random. However, Migos sampled Eurille's song Carry Me, and I decided to listen to her song. And here we are. Some other songs that have been on repeat are Dreamland by Glass Animals, Queen of Peace by Florence + the Machine, and Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell.

I'm already starting to prep for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've actually already started Christmas shopping, especially since there have been so many shipping delays. I still can't believe that so many stores like Michaels (at least my local stores) haven't received their Halloween supplies. I have been shopping from small businesses and have noticed the delays with them, but that won't stop me from supporting small businesses.

2021 may be almost over, but I'm going to continue to make the most of it. Here's to good days and good vibes...always.

Target Finds

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another edition of Target Finds! I've been to Target way too much over the past few weeks. Luckily, most of the time, I actually needed to get things. Maybe it's just me, but I think that during fall is when Target has the best things. Whether it's food products, shoes, or clothing, it seems that Target puts out the best collections during this time of year. And this year, Target did not disappoint.

Well, let's check out my Target Finds from the last few weeks.

I saw a post on Instagram and thought this mini pie maker was the cutest thing ever. I already have the waffle maker, so I decided to go ahead and get the pie maker as well. I haven't used it yet, but I plan on making a strawberry pie in the next couple of days. I'll definitely have to post a review once I use it.

What a blast from the past! I haven't had a Snapple in years. I decided to buy a pack of them, and I don't know why I stopped buying them. They are still so good. I also love that they are in plastic bottles. I remember when they were in glass bottles. It's definitely more convenient, especially since I have kids.

This was an impulse buy, and I don't regret it at all. These cake bites were delicious and such a great treat. The boys also loved them...although I have to admit that I ate most of the cake bites. 10/10 would recommend.

Target has had so many adorable clothing collections for kids. I had to buy some new clothing for the kids since it's getting chilly in the mornings. The toddler section currently has so many cute pieces and sets. I loved the long sleeve fox henley t-shirt and jogger pants set. It fits well, and I love the color.

Overall, I found some great things at Target. As usual, I saved on all of my Target Finds by using the Cartwheel app and buying items on sale.

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at a local coffee shop and support a small business. We'd order some seasonal drinks and pastries.  Lately, I've been on a hot chocolate kick. I tried a pumpkin spice hot chocolate bomb, so maybe the coffee shop will have that or another seasonal hot chocolate flavor.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I love this season. I feel like my creativity is coming back again in full force, and I love it. I have so many projects to finish, but I am working on them. I have the energy, and I'm feeling very motivated and inspired. It's a great feeling, and I hope it doesn't go away.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I finally caved and bought this new dress from Target. I hesitated all summer long on whether to get it or not, but it eventually went on clearance for $10, so I decided that it was now or never. It's such a cute dress, and I love that I can pair it with some jeans or leggings during fall. I also love that I can wear it with sandals or sneakers.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am so happy to hear of many of my friends accomplishing their goals. I've had a few friends start their own businesses, a couple of my friends finished college or graduate school, and some have received their certifications for various jobs. It's so exciting to see, and I'm so proud of their accomplishments. I'd rather see all of the career, baby announcements, wedding announcements, etc., than negative news any day. Here's to hoping that everyone accomplishes their goals, more positivity, and good vibes.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am so glad that we were able to meet up. It's always lovely to catch up and is a highlight of my month. I hope you have a great month and hope we get to go catch up again soon.

October Goals

Happy Monday! It's finally October, and I'm so excited. You may not know, but October is one of my favorite months. It's spooky season, and fall is in full force (well, as much as it can be in the South), but my favorite season is here, which makes it so much better.

Last month was a pretty good month, even though I didn't get a lot of goals accomplished. And you know what? I'm actually ok with that. September was great. We celebrated John's birthday, the boys had a fall break from school, and we had a staycation during that time. It was absolutely fantastic. It had been years since I've been to a fair, so we decided to go to the North Georgia State Fair. I've bought so many seasonal baked goods and treats. I've started purchasing and organizing the boys' fall and winter weather clothing. I have been in a significant planning mood. I've been planning so many things for the next couple of months. It's a bit weird, even though I love to plan things in advance.

This month, I'm looking forward to crossing some more things on my fall bucket list. I'm looking forward to watching scary movies and TV shows, working on my memory-keeping projects, and completing some courses and challenges. I'm also looking forward to going to some fall festivals and Halloween events.

Recap of September Goals

  • Read 6 books: I accomplished this goal! I think September may have been the month that I've read the most out of the year. I read over 50 books. To be fair, many of these books were novellas and short stories, but I still count them as books.
  • I reviewed seven books for Netgalley. Read 2 books that I need to review soon: I also accomplished this goal. I still have several books that I need to read and review for Netgalley, but I'm so glad that my list is decreasing.
  • Try 1 new recipe: I'm considering this a fail because I honestly can't remember if I tried a new recipe. I really need a way to keep better track of this, and I also need a better way to remember to try a new recipe.
  • Complete One Little Word prompt for September: This is a partial pass and fail. So I didn't actually finish the prompt, but I was so close.
  • Complete 2 Skillshare classes: I did work on a few courses, but I didn't complete them. I'm not too upset about not achieving this goal, but I hope to catch up on the classes soon.
  • Post 2 personal pieces on the blog: I'm not sure if I would consider my two blog posts personal pieces. I guess that depends on the reader and myself. One of the posts was my fall bucket list and the other was my end-of-the-month list of reflections. I felt like I had so much to say but just couldn't figure out the best way to put everything into words. I may have to just do a brain dump one day.
  • Exercise 3 times a week: I'm not even sure whether to call this a pass or a fail. I didn't actually keep track of this goal, but I am happy that I did exercise more than I usually do.
  • Drink more water: This is another goal that I really need to track better. I know I didn't drink as much water as I should, but it was definitely an improvement.
  • Go to the Silver Comet Trail: I went to the Silver Comet Trail and was so into my walk that I didn't realize how far I went until my surroundings looked very different! I actually walked about 8 miles to and back. I was so impressed with myself, but I was so exhausted. My body was definitely pushed to the limit, but mentally and emotionally, I felt so free and at peace. I felt calm, and my mind felt so much clearer.

October Goals
  • Read 5 books
  • Read 3 books that I need to review soon
  • Catch up on my One Little Word project
  • Post 2 personal pieces on the blog
  • Try 2 new recipes
  • Work on my Christmas travelers notebook
  • Catch up on my Project Life album

What are your goals for October? How did you do in September?

September 2021 // A List

September was a month of conflicting emotions.

September was a month of celebrations.

September was full of laughter.

September was full of wonder.

September was all about creating.

September had me full of dreams.

September brought a lot of hope and comfort.

September was a month of transitioning seasons.

September was a good month to read.

September was a month of discovering good music and musicians.

September was a light month yet a hearty month.

I found myself losing myself in nature...in a good way.

September was a month of remembrance.

September felt like a nice cleanse that left me feeling peaceful and at ease.

Oh, September, what a month you were.

October, I'm so ready for you, and I'm feeling good things about you.

If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet up at a local coffee shop and get some seasonal drinks. I'll most likely get a pumpkin spice latte, hot, of course, and some apple-flavored pastries. The weather is getting cooler, but it's such a welcome change. We would probably take our treats and go for a walk.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am so grateful that John and Raphael do not have Covid. It still sucks that they are sick, but we are so grateful that it wasn't Covid. I was so anxious while waiting for the results of their tests. They are both starting to feel a bit better, and I'm so glad. It was a very stressful week. Michael, Gabriel, and I are doing well, and we did not get sick.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I have so many projects that I want to work on. I really need to finish some projects that I haven't finished. I still have to work on my 2020 December traveler's notebook. Hopefully, that will be done by the end of November.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I received some terrible news about an artist and journaler I follow on Instagram. Sunny (@miavibes) passed away, and learning about her passing really made me sad. I really enjoyed her work and will continue to visit her page.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I recently made a mini album that I'm excited to work on. I also have another mini-project that I want to get started on. The mini-album was inspired by recent events that took place in my life. The mini-project randomly came to me after midnight a few weeks ago. It always amazes me how I get random ideas at random times and in random places. Does that ever happen to you?

What would you tell me?

Target Finds

Happy Wednesday! It's time for another edition of Target Finds! Although we are still in that strange seasonal transition, it's been so fun seeing the fall and Halloween displays at Target. It will be fall soon, so most of my items are fall-related, and I'm so excited. The items are also school-related as well.

Let's check out what I found and bought at Target.

Mott's Hot Apple Cider K-Cup Pods

When I saw these k-cups, I knew I just had to have them. I was (and still am) excited for fall. Seeing the display of apple cider and these new k-cups made me wish that it was already autumn. I haven't tried them yet, but I can't wait.

Giant Lunch Bags

I love that you can use these bags for all sorts of things. I mainly use them to pack the boys' school snacks. These bags are not too thick, but they get the job done. I accidentally got the larger size, so if you want to use the giant bags for lunches, then these are perfect.

Favorite Day Scarecrow Crunch Trail Mix

I am a sucker for Target's trail mixes. There are so many varieties, and I haven't tried one yet that I didn't like. Target currently has many fall-related snacks, including this trail mix, so I had to get some of these. I highly recommend the Scarecrow Crunch trail mix and also the S'mores trail mix.

Best Nerds Forever by James Patterson

The cover and the synopsis/blurb of this book got my attention. As soon as I saw that it mentioned ghosts, I was all in. I mean, it is almost fall, and Halloween will be here before you know it, so this book sounds perfect. I also think my boys are going to really enjoy this book.

Overall, I found some great things at Target. As usual, I saved on all of my Target Finds by using the Cartwheel app and buying items on sale.
