30 Days of Lists - September 2019 - Lists 1-15
Happy Wednesday! It's been a while since I posted about 30 Days of Lists. This challenge started on September 1st, and as always, it's been so much fun working on my lists. As you may know, 30 Days of Lists happens three times a year. You are given a prompt for 30 days, and you can complete each prompt in any way you want. There is no right or wrong way to complete the challenge. You can make it as simple or complex as you like.
This time, I decided to use a mini daybook by Amy Tangerine. I also used some label stickers and icon stickers from The Happy Planner sticker books. This little project is so easy, and it only takes me about 5 minutes to complete each prompt. I even prepped my notebook by sticking the list of prompts on the inside cover of my daybook. Then I added the labels with the prompts. I added the icon stickers as bullet points. The only thing that I have to do is simply add my responses.
I've been sharing my lists on Instagram but decided to share them on the blog as well. Today I'm sharing lists 1-15.
Please note that this is a very photo-heavy post.
Are you participating in 30 Days of Lists? Be sure to come back for the next set of lists.

Fall 2019 Bucket List
Happy Monday! Summer isn't officially over yet, and Fall begins on September 23, but I considered Summer to be over once my kids started school. It's been feeling so much like fall. The weather has been cooler and a lot more bearable. The leaves are slowly changing colors. Fall and Halloween decorations are everywhere. One of my favorite things to do to celebrate the change in seasons is to make a bucket list. So I thought it would be fun to share my fall bucket list with all of you.
- Go to the Farmers Market
- Go to a Pumpkin Patch
- Go on a hayride
- Drink seasonal drinks (i.e., Pumpkin Spice Lattes)
- Bake a pumpkin pie
- Drink apple cider
- Go to the Silver Comet Trail
- Bake pumpkin bread
- Watch scary movies
- Take a walking tour of the Marietta Square
- Visit Oakland Cemetery
- Go to a corn maze
- Read scary stories
- Bake Halloween cookies
- Make chili
- Try 3 new recipes
- Toast pumpkin seeds
- Buy Halloween candy
- Buy Fall and Halloween decorations
- Carve pumpkins
- Make arts & crafts with the boys
- Make s'mores
What is on your Fall bucket list?

If You and I Had Coffee
If you and I had coffee...
We'd meet a new coffee shop. We'd order hot drinks, and pumpkin-flavored pastries to celebrate September and Fall's imminent arrival. It's been scorching in the afternoon so we would probably have our coffee date in the morning and enjoy the cooler weather.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd ask you what you are currently listening to. Any new (or new-to-you) music? Podcasts? I don't listen to a lot of podcasts, but I really love the Crafty Ass Female podcast. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of older songs that I never heard of, but have fallen in love with. I currently love Another Love by Tom Odell. I tend to find new songs when they are featured in TV shows or movies. It's one of the many reasons why I love to watch TV.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I've been on a significant creative journey. There are so many projects that I'm currently working on. I'm working on the 30 Days of Lists challenge, my journal/sketchbook, and I'm going to participate in Get Messy's Season of Habit. I think I already know which book I'm going to use for the Get Messy challenge. I've been trying so many different types of mediums and techniques. It's been great learning about what I like and don't like. I've been trying to embrace the imperfections of my work.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I have been loving Instagram. I currently love @reson8ed, @olikanejournals, @brenda.kaya, @marinette_scrap, @rehamcihan, @playingonpaper, @patrice_sketches, @thistleandthimbles, and @cayleegrey.
These accounts are filled with so much art, journaling, and color. I've been inspired by all of these artists.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I am so excited for Fall. Honestly, I've been saying that it's already Fall. My kids have already started school, and it's already September, so I consider Fall to already have made its arrival. There are leaves on the ground, we've had cooler mornings, and I've been consuming Pumpkin Spice Lattes, so it's definitely Fall.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm on the verge of cutting off a few extremely toxic people in my life. It really sucks when it's family and close friends that need to be cut off. But when they are constantly terrible to you, and it's starting to affect you, then it's time to start taking care of yourself and your mental health. If that means limiting or flat out cutting them out of your life then so be it.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm supposed to go to a wedding next month, but I'm having the hardest time figuring out what to wear. I'd ask for your help in finding an outfit. I seriously need all the help that I can get.
What would you tell me?

Target Finds
Happy Monday! It's time for another edition of Target Finds! Last month, I went to Target a lot and found a lot of great stuff. However, I'm going to share the top four items that I loved.
Let's see what I found at Target in August.
Organic Ocho Candy
I absolutely love Organic Ocho candy bars. They taste so good. They are a bit pricey, but I used an offer on the Cartwheel app, so I didn't feel too bad splurging on these treats. My favorite out of the three bars that I tried was the Caramel & Peanut bar. I also tried the Peanut Butter bar and the Dark Chocolate PB bar. Both of these were also good.
ZIPIT Lenny 3 string pencil case
I bought this pencil case during Back to School season, and I love it. There's a lot of space, and it fits a lot of pens, highlighters, and markers. Apparently, it holds up to 55 pens and pencils. I love how it folds up. The lining of the pencil case is adorable and colorful. It fits in a three-ring binder, so it's perfect for students who like to put their supplies inside their binders.
With The Fire On High by Elizabeth Acevedo
I haven't read this book yet, but I was so excited to pick it up. I read Elizabeth Acevedo's first book, The Poet X, and loved it. With the Fire on High is a novel in prose. The book is about an Afro-Latinx young mother named Emoni. The story takes place during her senior year, and her school opens up registration for a culinary class. Her dream is to be a chef, but she has a lot of tough decisions to make.
Considering that I loved her first book and the description of Acevedo's new novel, I'm sure this is going to be a great read.
Hello Autumn Mug
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a link to this mug, but I found it in the Dollar Spot section. The Dollar Spot section is full of Fall and Halloween items, so of course, I had to pick something from there. I love the color and the size of the mug. I've already used it a few times, and it's perfect.
Overall, I'm pleased with the items that I found. I think everything I found was a perfect balance. I can't wait to see what I find this month.
As usual, I was able to save on all of my Target Finds by using the Cartwheel app, buying items that were on sale, or buying things that were at the Dollar Spot section.

What I Read in August
Happy Wednesday. Last month was so busy since the boys started school. I almost didn't accomplish my reading goal. Luckily, I was able to start and finish a book on the last day of August. It almost felt like "cheating" because it was such a quick read.
I also read a couple of blog posts and articles. Honestly, there weren't that many pieces that I read that really interested me. It was a slow reading month for sure. Hopefully, this month will be better.
Well, let's check out the book that I read along with some of my favorite blog posts and articles from August.
Must Read
I saw this book at Barnes and Noble during their Mother's Day sales event, but I ended up purchasing it during the Barnes and Noble Book Haul event. The title of the book drew me in immediately and made me laugh, so I knew that it was going to be a good one.
This was such a quick read. As I said before, I read it on the last day of August...in less than an hour. I loved the illustrations. Some of the advice was hilarious. I felt that the book was a bit too short, and it left me wanting more. Most of the advice was just one or two sentences long. I think this was a great collaboration between Marx and Chast. I hope they work together soon.
Blog Posts I Loved in August
Summer's Wild Abandon by Anne Butera
3 Family Friendly Breakfasts on the Go by Erin (Loved the breakfast sandwich recipe!)
Christine's Year of 100/Month "Fun Things" Budget
People are Committed to Being Miserable AF by Steph
Jil Larson's For the Love of Grids, Washi, and Books
Maya Singleton's A Letter on Therapy
What did you read in August?

September Goals
Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day! It's a new month! Summer is basically over. There are hints of Fall everywhere. I'm so excited. Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back...and I'm not even a big fan of them, but there's just something about them this year. The leaves are slowly changing colors, and for the past few mornings, there's been a chill in the air. I'm all for cooler mornings.
Last month was a hectic month. School started for the kids, and we have been getting used to our new routine. It was definitely a month full of changes and transition. With it being such a hectic month, I didn't really work a lot on my goals. I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm happy that I was able to accomplish a couple of goals.
So, let's recap on my goals for August and check out my new goals for September. Ready? Here we go.

With it being such a hectic month, I didn't really work a lot on my goals. I'm a bit disappointed, but I'm happy that I was able to accomplish a couple of goals.
So, let's recap on my goals for August and check out my new goals for September. Ready? Here we go.
Recap of August Goals
- Read 1 book: I read Why Don't You Write My Eulogy Now So I Can Correct It?: A Mother's Suggestions by Patricia Marx and Roz Chast. This was a quick read. I'll be sharing a review of the book soon.
- Try 3 new recipes: This was a fail. I only tried one recipe. I made a breakfast sandwich, and it was delicious. I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't accomplish this goal. I really got to get back on track with meal planning.
- Complete 1 Skillshare class: This was a fail. I'm still taking Meera Lee Patel's Skillshare class. I should finish the course in a few days.
- Practice Italian on Duolingo 5 days a week: Honestly, I didn't really keep track of this. I'm going to call this a pass because I am pleased with how often I practiced. I really love Duolingo, and learning a new language has been so much fun.
- Make art 3 days a week: I also didn't really keep track of this, but I'm going to go ahead and call this a pass. I made a bunch of projects in August. I worked in my sketchbook/journal, made a mini travelers notebook/art journal, and prepped my notebook for this upcoming 30 Days of Lists. I also tried a few new art supplies, and it's been great.
September Goals
- Read 2 books
- Try 2 new recipes
- Complete 1 Skillshare class
- Stay active 3 days a week
- Work on 30 Days of Lists challenge
- Work in my sketchbook every day
What are your goals for September?
