If You and I Had Coffee

If you and I had coffee...

We'd meet at Starbucks. I'd ask you if you have tried the Java Chip Frappuccino and the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino. If you haven't tried either one, then I'd recommend those two drinks. The Java Chip Frappuccino tastes just like the Mocha Cookie Crumble...the only difference is that the Mocha Cookie Crumble has the cookie crumbles.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that we finally cut the cord and subscribed to Hulu. We already had Netflix for a little over a month and have loved it. We get a good deal on Netflix because we get it for free with our cell phone service. We actually pay an upgrade for Netflix (about $3), but it's worth it since we can use Netflix on four different screens.

As for Hulu, we decided to try the basic plan so that we could see if we liked it. We ended up really liking Hulu, but the ads were very annoying. I really did not like how the ads just popped up out of nowhere. There were many times when an ad would pop up, and then the show would be over. Eventually, I realized that if the ads are about 80 seconds long or then that meant that the show was over.

We have been fed up with cable for a long time. We had too many issues such as the price kept increasing every month, the DVR not recording our shows, etc. Cutting the cord was a long time coming, and I think I hesitated because our kids do enjoy watching cartoons. I wanted to make sure that Netflix and especially Hulu, had shows that the kids love as well as a decent amount of family-friendly shows and movies.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that you should watch Always Be My Baby and I Am Mother. Both films are on Netflix. I loved both movies, especially Always Be My Baby. It was the best rom-com that I've watched in a long time. I Am Mother was kind of weird at times, but interesting. I'd also ask you for any Netflix and Hulu recommendations.

Oh, I would also recommend The Bold Type. This show is on Hulu, and it's fantastic. I love that they discuss social issues and topics that are so important in the real world.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I am so over the rain. Don't get me wrong, I love rainy weather, but not when it's been raining for about a week. We're supposed to have sunny weather for a couple of days and then it's back to rainy weather.

If you and I had coffee...

I'd tell you that I have wanted to go to this little boutique that's close to my home. I've wanted to buy a new summer dress or romper, but I always have the hardest time buying clothes. I'd invite you to come with me because it would be fun to have a friend to help me pick out a dress. Maybe we'd go after our coffee date.

What would you tell me?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

  1. The mocha cookie frap sounds amazing. I don't often get the more "fluffy" drinks from Starbucks. I usually stick with my standard unsweetened iced passion tea. Always Be My Maybe is on my list to watch. I've heard so many good things about it. I think so many people are cutting the cable cord and going with a subscription service instead. I would love to go dress shopping with you. It's so fun getting honest opinions about clothes from friends. So glad you were able to join the coffee date this month! Hope to see you next time! :)

    1. The frap is amazing! You have to try it. I hope you get to watch Always Be My Maybe soon. I can now see why so many people have been choosing to cut the cord. We are saving so much more money and we love the content that is available on Netflix and Hulu.

  2. I loved Always Be My Maybe! And my recommendation for Netflix is Jane the Virgin, if you haven’t watched it already. I agree that rainy weather is nice for a little while but gets old when it’s gone on for too long. Hopefully the weather clears up for you soon. Nice to have coffee with you this month, Emi!
