Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. The weekend went by way too fast. And how in the world are we already in the middle of August? I need time to slow down just a bit. Anyways, it's been a while since I've shared a weekend recap so I thought it'd be fun to share one today.

Friday

While Michael and Gabriel were at school, John, Raphael, and I went to the mall. Then we went to Hobby Lobby and Smoothie King. I also went to the grocery store for a few things and then I went to Smallcakes. John and I just accomplished two huge goals, so I decided to celebrate with some cupcakes.

In the evening, we watched some TV and relaxed. We were all excited for the weekend.

Saturday

John and the boys decided to have a father-sons morning, so I decided to go to a few stores by myself. I went to Barnes and Noble and bought Michael and Gabriel a new book. They both love the CatStronauts series by Drew Brockington. I also went across town to Tuesday Morning. Lately, the two closest Tuesday Morning stores haven't had a lot of decent scrapbooking supplies, which is why I decided to go to the one across town. Thankfully, I was able to find a few things. Of course, I went to Target. I only had one thing on my list, but we all know that I left with more than one item. I got Raphael some new shoes. I was surprised to find that Target had some scrapbooking supplies from Crate Paper and Pink Paislee.

In the afternoon, we all went to get lunch at Dairy Queen. We were surprised that it was a bit busy. Then again, it was hot, so I guess we shouldn't have been too surprised.

Sunday

Raphael and I woke up early. After breakfast, I cleaned the house and got started on the mountain of laundry. I made sausage, bacon, eggs, and waffles for John, Michael, and Gabriel. It was such a lovely, quiet morning.

Mami invited us over for brunch. We all had a great time. Raphael loved watching Michael and Gabriel run around. My heart melted when all three of them were playing together.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and preparing for the next week.

We had a fun weekend. I wish the weekend didn't have to end. But here's to a great week.

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day. I hope you all had an awesome weekend. Summer has officially started for us. School is out, and we have already started going on adventures.

Friday

On Friday, John, the boys, and I went to Six Flags. At first, we were only going to redeem our season passes, but then we decided to get on a couple of rides and grab something to eat. We had such a blast. We didn't stay for long because it got hot. One of the perks of having a season pass is that we can spend a short amount of time at the park and not feel like we wasted any money.

After we got home, we all relaxed. While John and the boys played some games, I picked up John's dry cleaning. Then I cleaned the bay windows and got started on some laundry. I decided to have a little me-time and went to Barnes and Noble. I bought four books. Thank goodness for a 20% off entire purchase coupon, my member discount, and a gift card because I only ended up paying a small balance.

Saturday

The boys and I went to Target, Publix, and the cafe in Barnes and Noble. I decided to try the Passion Tea Lemonade. I'm not a big fan of sweet or unsweetened tea, but I had a coupon (I love deals lol) so I went for it. Surprisingly, it wasn't that bad. It didn't really taste like tea at all.

Then we went to the mall to grab some lunch at Chick-fil-A. I had a ton of rewards and points from the Chick-fil-A app, so I used those to get our meals and ice cream cones. Raphael loved the ice cream cone.

Once we got home, we watched some cartoons and movies. The boys played some games, and I worked on some layouts while Raphael took a nap.

Sunday

Raphael and I woke up early, but John and the boys slept in. Since they were sleeping in, I decided to go to the grocery store with Raphael to grab a few things. Then we went to Starbucks and bought some frappuccinos and breakfast for John and me.

When we got home, I was still surprised that Michael and Gabriel were still sleeping. John helped me put the groceries away. Then he had to get ready for work. Raphael watched Mighty Little Bheem, and I got breakfast ready for the boys.

After we all finished eating our breakfast and John left for work, I decided that we would go to Michaels. I was hoping to find the We R Memory Keepers staple board, but they didn't have it in stock. After leaving Michaels, we went to the playground before it got too hot.

When we got home, I made some lunch. After we all got cleaned up, Michael and Gabriel played some games. Raphael took a nap, and I got some cleaning done.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, playing games, watching cartoons and movies, reading, and journaling.

We had such a fun weekend, and I'm looking forward to more adventures this summer.

Weekend Recap

Is it just me or did this month just seem to go by so fast? How in the world is it the last week of April? Anyways, I hope you all had a great weekend. It's been a while since I shared a weekend recap so I thought it'd be fun to share one today.

Friday

Friday was such a busy day. We took Michael to the Urgent Care, but luckily he is doing fine. He was even able to go back to school that same day. I had to make a lot of phone calls. If you know me, then you know that I hate talking on the phone. I made a few appointments, answered some emails, and got a ton of laundry done.

Saturday

It was such a gorgeous Saturday. It felt like Spring, and the weather was fantastic. There was no way that we were going to stay in the house. We finally went to the library after not going in the past month. Luckily, my boys always get to pick books from school to take home, so they still read. After we went to the library, we went to a playground that we hadn't gone to since Michael and Gabriel were babies. We are so lucky that we live in an area that has tons of cool playgrounds. This particular playground is a bit farther away from our home, but it's such a good one. There's lots of equipment for kids of all ages. Raphael is now big enough to fit on the baby swings, and he had such a blast playing in it.

Sunday

I had a slow start on Sunday, but that quickly changed once I had some coffee. Every Sunday morning, I read Post Secrets. It's one of my favorite Sunday rituals. After reading Post Secrets, I did a load of laundry and also baked some banana nut and chocolate chip bread. It was delicious! Then I put some bags that I need to donate in the trunk of my car.  I worked on some blog posts and also read some blogs. The boys had a lot of fun playing games, watching a couple of movies, and reading.

I also decided to meal prep, and now I have dinner for most of the week. I've been trying to work on meal planning. I don't know why it took me this long to pick a day and cook a big batch of food. I may start batch cooking every week. I'm going to save a lot of time and money by doing this.

Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. Here's to hoping that this week is a great one!

Weekend Recap - Birthday Edition

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I don't normally write a recap of my weekend, but this past weekend was special because it was my birthday on Saturday. I say this every year, but I can't believe that I'm another year older. It seriously blows my mind that I'm 28 years old. I was having mixed feelings about turning 28, but I'm so grateful that I'm even able to celebrate another year. I'm celebrating my birthday all month long and I actually started celebrating my birthday on Thursday.

Thursday

On Thursday, I went to the hair salon and got my hair done. I saw that the weather would be terrible on Friday, so I thought it would be best to just get my hair styled a day earlier. I was actually a bit nervous to go my stylist. My hair stylist recently lost her son and just came back to work so I was unsure what to even say to her. How do you tell someone that lost their child that you are sorry for their loss? I bought her a card, gave my condolences, and a hug. It still doesn't feel like enough.

Friday

On Friday, I went to Krispy Kreme and Cinnabon to get some free coffee and donuts. I love that I can get birthday rewards from some of my favorite places. If you have any favorite spots that you frequent then you should sign up for their reward lists. There are tons of stores that give birthday rewards like Starbucks and Chick-fil-A.

John, the boys, and I went to the mall so that I could get some new shoes. John knew that I wanted to get some sneakers so I was excited to pick out my gift. I decided to get some Chuck Taylor All Star High-Top Sneaker and I absolutely love them.

Saturday

Saturday was my actual birthday and I got to have some me time for a couple of hours. I went to a few different shops during the day. When I came home, we spent time relaxing and watching TV.

In the evening, we went to Mami's house for dinner. The dinner was actually a surprise birthday party! I almost cried when I walked into her house. John was in on the surprise as well and I can't believe that he was able to keep it a secret. The greatest gift that I received was having my sisters, brother, and cousin all together. We haven't seen each other in such a long time and it's been years since we were all together. My heart felt so full with joy and love. I am so grateful to my family for pulling off this surprise. Having everyone together was just what I needed and wanted. This was definitely one of the best birthdays I have ever had.

Sunday

It was a quiet, but productive day. I spent the day doing laundry, tidying up, and preparing for the upcoming week. I finally started working in my planner and also got a few blog posts ready for the next couple of weeks.
