July 2014 Conscious Box

Hello there! I'm super excited to share my review on the July 2014 Conscious Box. This is supposed to be my free box due to the small issues that I had with my second box. I still have to make my decision on whether or not to continue my subscription with Conscious Box before the month is over. But for now...let's get to the good stuff.

 Here's my review:

July 2014

The box was a little beat up, but nothing was damaged inside.

I love the wrapper and the little card that they always include

First look at the goods

Everly: Drink Mix

So I'm excited about this. It's an energizing drink mix and I could always use extra energy. It's in Peach Mango and sounds delicious. Plus when you purchase this, you help children with waterborne diseases.

Truvia: Sweetener

I've never tried Truvia before and very rarely actually use sugar except if I have to bake something. Truvia is natural and comes from the leaves of the stevia plant.

Buddy Fruits: Coconut Milk & Fruit

So my kids and I have tried different brands of pouches and loved them, but have never tried this brand. It's made from pure blended fruit and coconut milk.

Annie's: Homegrown Bunnies

I've heard about this brand before and have seen some of their products. I really like that it's made with organic wheat and whole grains. I'm sure they are super delicious.

Partners Free For All Kitchen: GF Crackers: Olive Oil & Sea Salt

I've never heard of this brand before. These are gluten-free and are made with cassava flour and five ancient grains. I may end up giving this to my husband to try.

Manitoba Harvest: Hemp Hearts

I keep hearing about hemp seeds. I'm amazed that you can put this in cereal, yogurt, and salads. I might have to try this with yogurt.

Sotru: Chocoslim

This is a weight management product that has chocamine which is a patented extract from chocolate. It does not have sugar or fat. This can also help with mood and energy.

Environne: Fruit & Vegetable Wash

I think this is pretty cool and was a little excited to receive this. We buy lots of produce and I have been wanting to try a fruit and vegetable wash. This has been proven to remove waxes, chemicals, and pesticides and it is an award winning product.

Izze: Sparkling Juice (Blackberry)

I was also excited to receive this. I think I have seen this before. There are no refined sugars, caffeine or artificial ingredients. It's just fruit and sparkling water.

Natralia: Heel Balm

I have received this brand in two of the other boxes. I think I received this one in my June box. This contains rosemary oil and shea butter. This will be going into my travel bag.

Natralia: Anti-Itch Soothing Cream

This is another Natralia product.  This product contains oatmeal, Canadian willowherb, and menthol. This will be going into my travel bag as well.

Live Your True Nature: Bookmark

I like that I received a bookmark because now I don't have to go out and buy one. I have so many books that I need to read and was going to buy a bookmark (or two) so this came at a good time.

Coupons

Conscious Box always include coupons for some of the products that are in the box which is always nice.

I did not get a chance to try most of the products in this box so I'll be sure to include what I thought in the next day or two. I'm not sure how to feel about this box. There were a few things that I loved that was in the box like the drink and the snack crackers, but I was hoping not to receive anymore of the lotions and creams since I already received some in other boxes.

So that is my review.

Do you subscribe to Conscious Box or any other subscription box company? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Until next time...

June 2014 Conscious Box Review

Hello there! I'm super excited to share my review on the June 2014 Conscious Box! This is my last box from a 3 month subscription that I purchased on either Living Social, Groupon, or Plum District. However, Conscious Box is going to send me another box due to an issue with my second box which I thought was very nice of them. I'm going to make my final decision on whether to keep my subscription going with the final box since I'm still torn on whether or not to continue it.

So here is my review!

Here are some pictures of when i first opened the box and a picture of the card that comes in the box. The card tells you what it is in the box.

One of the cards that I received in the box gives you some ideas on what to do with the chocolate bars that came in this month's box. One of the suggestions was to put the chocolates in the fridge since it may have melted a little. Surprisingly, my chocolate bars did not melt at all, but I still put them in the fridge. The other card was actually a mini booklet with recipes. These focused on the chips that were in the box.

First look after taking the wrapping paper off

Loved that first look! Chips and chocolate...yay!!

Beanfields Snacks: Beach & Rice Chips- Pico De Gallo

These chips have protein and fiber in them. They are also gluten free and corn free. I thought these were ok. I probably should have eaten these with some dip, but my oldest son loved these chips so I may purchase some more.

Helwa: Belgian Chocolate Crisp Wafer Fingers

I thought it was so smart of the people at Conscious Box to put the chocolate bars and wafers in a ziploc bag. Thanks Conscious Box!

The wafer bars were delicious! I really, really loved them! They were like KitKat bars, but healthier! I definitely plan to purchase more of these.

Natralia Heel Balm

This balm has rosemary oil and shea butter in it. This may come in handy, but I may just put it in my travel bag along with the other lotion samples that I have received.

Organyc: Cotton Pads

These pads are 100% cotton and are supposed to be naturally absorbent. Plus they are biodegradable which is awesome!

Bolt Tape

This is a natural, energy-infused sport tape that is supposed to ease aches very quickly. I hope it works and I know this will come in handy.

I received this pamphlet that has some more information on Bolt Tape.

Coupons

As always, Conscious Box sends some coupons with their subscription boxes. I received coupons for Beanfields, oil, and Quit Tea. I will be giving the quit tea coupon away as well.

Equal Exchange: Dark Chocolate with almonds and Caramel Crunch Milk Chocolate

Oh I was super excited to get these chocolate bars! Surprisingly, I still have not eaten any of the chocolate bars! I think I'm going to melt one of the bars and dip some strawberries in them.

Somersets: Extra Delicate English Shaving Oil and Extra Sensitive English Shaving Oil

The extra sensitive shaving oil is made with essential oils like ylang ylang and lavender. I assume the the extra delicate one has similar essential oils as well (don't quote me though). I think these may be useful. I have never used an oil before so I am curious if it works.

Quit Tea

I will be giving this tea away. I do not smoke so I do not need this and I also do not like to drink tea.

So that's my review. Overall, I was very pleased with this box. I am still considering extending my subscription, but I think I'll know for sure when I receive my final box.

Do you subscribe to Conscious Box or a different subscription box company? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Until next time...

May 2014 Conscious Box

Hello there and Happy Memorial Day! Before I get into my Conscious Box review, I want to thank our veterans and current servicemen and women who serve our country.

For those of you who are participating in the blog every day in May challenge, today is day 26! The challenge is almost over and it has been so much fun! I've done most of the challenges (except for one or two that I didn't want to do), but I made sure to still blog every day which is what my main goal was. Today's prompt is: invite someone to guest post for you.

Instead of doing this prompt, I will be reviewing my May 2014 Conscious Box. So here we go...

First view of the box

After taking the wrapping off

Clif Kid Organic Z Bar: I was super excited to get this. I have been wanting to get this for my boys, but was worried about buying a whole box and then the boys not liking it. They haven't tried it yet so hopefully today I can get them to try it.

Cascadian Farm Super Squares: I have heard of this brand before. I never really bothered to try them though, but I was glad that I received this. I have seen a lot of people purchase Cascadian Farm products. I did try it...I didn't hate, but I didn't love it either. However, I may purchase a box and try some other flavors.

ECOVER Dishwasher Tablets: I received this in last month's box. I was glad that I found out that I can put it in a cutlery basket. So I will be trying it.

Natural Dynamix-Kramp Krusher: I'm not an endurance athlete so this won't be too useful for me. I will be passing this along.

Flora-Floradix: This is an iron and herb supplement. This may be useful so I think I'm going to keep it around.

Weleda Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner: I received this in a previous box. I will be putting this in my travel bag with the other sample that I received.

San Francisco Bay Gourmet Coffee: I use my Keurig to make coffee so I'm not sure how I'm going to make this. It smells very strong. I immediately knew that I had some type of coffee sample when I opened my box. Also I'm not much of a coffee drinker...I prefer hot chocolate and I do love caramel macchiatos.

Ito-En Match Green Tea Latte: I received this in a different flavor last month. I will be passing this on to someone else. I do not like tea at all so I was a little disappointed to get this in my box.

Flents Wipe 'N Clear Wipe: This is really cool and I love that it's biodegradable. I plan to use these on my sunglasses.

Crystal Body Deodorant Towelettes:  I also received this in my previous box. I have also put this in my travel bag as well so it will be used.

Nordic Naturals Omega Boost: I also received this in my last box and I will be using it as well. I really think that it is cool that it's not a vitamin that's in a pill, but that it looks like it can be mixed in something.

Bio Bag 3 Gallong Bag: I love this! I usually use my reusable bags to go shopping, but I occasionally use plastic bags for dirty diapers. I will have to look for these bags in stores.

I also received a few coupons and a pamphlet with some information on the towelettes.

So that is my review. I wouldn't say that this was the best box since I had several items that I received and I would have preferred to have received something different. However, there were several items that I did like.

Do you subscribe to Conscious Box? Or any other subscription boxes? If you participated in the blog every day in May challenge, please let me know who was your guest blogger.

Until next time...

April 2014 Conscious Box Review

Hello there! My husband got me an early Mother's Day gift which was a subscription to Conscious Box. Every month, subscribers get a box that is filled with natural, healthy, GMO-free products.  There are 3 different boxes available: Classic, Gluten Free, and Vegan. The boxes come in two different sizes which are Plus and Taster. If you choose the Plus box, you usually get 8-12 items and many of these are full sized products. If you choose the Taster box then you get 5-8 items. The subscription ships for free and is $19.95 a month. You also get to choose your subscription length as well.

First look at the box

I was really excited when I finally got my box. I didn't get to see any spoilers online even though I did check their Facebook page a couple of times. I love that there was an information card included and I hope that they include one every month.

After taking the wrapping paper off

I absolutely loved what I saw once I took the wrapping paper off. I was a little surprised by the size of the box and didn't think that there would be too much stuff in there even though the box was kinda heavy. Once I opened it, I saw there was a lot of stuff in there and that it was heavy due to the drink.

Spatone pur-Absorb Iron

pur-Absorb is a natural supplement that can help people who have an iron deficiency. So if you are feeling weak or fatigued or even know that you have issues with your iron, this is supposed to help with that. I haven't tried this yet, but I will soon.

Nordic Naturals: Omega Boost

This is a mango flavored packet that has omega-3s in it. It is for heart, brain, and immune support. I'm excited to try this out because I keep hearing that Omega-3s are really good for you. Plus, the immune support is awesome.

Crystal: Deodorant Towelettes

I haven't used this yet, but I did pack it in my travel bag for my upcoming trip. I figured I could try it then.

 ECOVER: Dishwasher Tablets

I don't use dishwasher tablets. I use powder dishwasher detergent so I am not sure if I am going to keep this or give it to my mom or in laws to try.

Plum Organics: Kids Fruit & Veggie Shredz

I absolutely loved this! Why? Because my kids loved it! I actually had two pieces of the shredz (call me crazy, but I have to try it first before giving stuff to my kids) and they were good. I've been wanting to try this brand, but was not sure if my kids would like it or not. So it looks like I will be on the hunt for the shredz.

Vintage Italia: Pasta Chips-Alfredo ($1.79 for 2 oz).

Oh these were delicious and my boys loved these too! I never heard of the brand so I was excited to try these. These were not too overpowering and I loved that they were baked. They are also made with semolina and there are several different flavors. I will be on the look out for these as well.

Weleda: Replenishing Shampoo & Conditioner

I've seen these around, but never bought them before. I am a little hesitant to try because I am so used to using the shampoo and conditioner that

Ito-En: Teas' Tea Black Tea Latte

I do not like tea at all and neither does my husband so I think I may give this to my sister to try. It does sounds interesting and their website says that it is brewed with tea leaves from Sri Lanka. It also apparently has a deep flavor.

Natralia: Dry Skin Lotion

I also packed this in my travel bag as well. This lotion is free of sulfates, paragons, fragrances, and artificial colors. It can also be used for the entire family which is great.

Smith & Vandiver: Bath Bombs (Detox Therapy)- $3.00

I loved this! I love bath and body products so I was really excited to try this. I never tried or heard of this brand before which made this even more exciting to try. It really was awesome and simple to use. You just drop it into the bathtub. The bath bomb that I received was the Detox Therapy. It had pink grapefruit and ginger which is supposed to help naturally get rid or toxins and impurities.

Coupons

I also received several coupons on the products that I received. I'm glad that most of the coupons are for products that I did like or that I plan to try.

I was not able to get the prices on all of the items because it just started to take a little too long. Overall, I am impressed with this box and can't wait for my May Conscious Box to arrive.

Until next time...
