If You and I Had Coffee
If you and I had coffee...
We'd most likely meet via Zoom. This damn pandemic sucks. I'd love actually to sit in a coffee shop, but that's ok. At least we can still chat and see eachother...even if it's not in person. You'd most likely see me with an iced coffee and a pastry. I've been devouring so many baked goods. Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I've been drinking a lot of iced coffee.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm so excited that the school (online classes) will finally be out soon. The boys have worked so hard. We missed their teachers so much.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm slowly getting over this creative block. I've worked in my journal a few times. It's been so comforting to work with pretty paper. I've also been working on some blog posts as well. I'm hoping to work on some other pieces soon.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I've been listening to so much music. Music is one of the things that have been comforting me during this pandemic. It's been great discovering new (and new-to-me) songs and artists. If you have any playlists, songs, etc. that you recommend, please let me know.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I met Mami and my younger sister at Mami's house. I was supposed to drop off a couple of things of Mami's that she left at my place. What should have been just a quick 10-minute visit ended up being about an hour and a half visit (don't worry...we did the whole 6 feet distance). It was so good to see them in person. We laughed so much. It was just what I needed.
What would you tell me?
Thanks for visiting!
Until next time...

I am very excited about getting to go to coffee shops again when things are safe. My creativity has been up and down lately. I'm just riding the wave and taking advantage of the good days. I have been loving music right now. It's a good release of all the tension and anxiety that builds up. I'm glad you got to see your family, even if you had to stay six feet apart. It makes me feel a little more human when I get to connect with family. Emily, I'm so happy you were able to join the coffee date this month. Hope to see you next time! <3
ReplyDeleteHi Lecy! Right now, music and reading has been everything for me. It's been very comforting.
DeleteI can't wait for the next coffee chat.
Yes please to all the baked goods! I hope you enjoy your break from school! Online learning has been a challenge for parents, teachers and kids and some time off is well deserved. And how good is it to see people in person! Lovely to have coffee with you today, Emi, and I hope you can stay safe and look after yourself xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Bella! Online learning was a bit of a challenge, but I'm so grateful for my kids' teachers. They are so amazing and tried to make things as simple as possible.
DeleteHi, joining you from the Coffee Date. I have never tried iced coffee but maybe should. Though I have had cold Starbux Double Shots so maybe that counts?
ReplyDeleteI am happy you are working through your creative block. That is the worst ever. Have a beautiful month!
Thank you! I haven't tried the Starbucks Double Shots, but have heard they are great. I would count that as iced coffee.
DeleteI hope you have a great day.
Hey Emily,
ReplyDeleteI would tell you that I lately discovered audio books. There were a few that were included in my one month kindle unlimited subscription so I figured why not. Its really cool to craft, clean or take a walk and be able to "read" a book. I rarely listen to music. Well when I drive I usually do and I sing loudly. But that's about it. Oh no and when I have to concentrate on writing some text then I listen to a specific playlist. Funny how its so different for people.
I've only ever listened to one audio book, but I think I may try them out again. I've been reading a lot of ebooks which is new for me because I prefer print books. It's been a nice and welcome change.
