TBB Asks: Relationships Edition

Happy Monday! Today I'm linking up with The Blended Blog for TBB Asks. TBB Asks is a monthly questionnaire link up series.

1. Who is your oldest friend/how did you meet? I still have some childhood friends...even though we haven't seen each other in over a decade. We mainly keep in contact via social media, but we still obviously consider each other friends. Stacy, Fannis, and Janeiry are just a few of my childhood friends. I also have a some friends (Mechell, Melissa, and Trenell) that I met from my old job and we also keep in contact via social media, but we do text/call one another.

Random fact: I honestly have to do a better job at actually seeing my friends. I miss my friends and one of my goals is to actually see them a little more this year.

2. Tell us about circle of support. Who are your people? My mami, John, and my friends.

3. How did you meet your partner? I met John at work. He even proposed to me at our job.

4. How is Valentine's Day celebrated in your home? We're not really into Valentine's Day. We don't go out to dinner or do anything really big and fancy. We prefer to stay home and have dinner there. We also still give each other a small gift. The holiday still holds a special place in our hearts because John proposed to me on Valentine's Day at work.

Since we have kids, we do give the boys a little gift and treats. I honestly think that holidays are so much more fun now that we have kids. It's so fun to see how excited the boys are during holidays.

5. What is your love language? I've heard people mention love language, but never actually knew what in the world they meant. I took a quiz online and apparently my love language is quality time. I think the result of the quiz was accurate. I love spending time with my loved ones.

6. Do you prefer receiving flowers or chocolates? I actually love both. However, I am horrible at keeping flowers and plants alive so it would probably be best to just get me chocolates.

7. What is the most meaningful gift you have ever received or have given? I've received a lot of meaningful gifts. Most of these gifts were handmade. I love handmade gifts because it shows that the person who made it, really took their time and made a lot of effort to make the gift.

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

  1. This is a fun questionnaire! I also met my husband at work and he proposed to me on my mom's birthday by accident.

  2. I'm loving reading everyone's responses to this prompt but aren't all TBB prompts really fun?!
We, too, don't do much for Valentines - we're of the opinion that it's hyped up alot more than necessary and why do we need to declare our love on V-day? Why not everyday, you know?

Hope you have a great week Emily!

    1. I love the TBB prompts. I think Valentines is very hyped up. We always tell each other that we won't buy presents, but then we end up getting each other something small.

  4. Awww, how sweet that your hubs proposed on Valentine's Day! I didn't know that <3 we keep our celebrations pretty minimal, too. The first year we were together Bryan went all out and snuck into my apartment after work to cook up a delicious vegan feast. It was so sweet! Now we typically order in or go out a few days after V-Day (I personally hate going out on that day, b/c waiters always try to rush you out), but it's fun to celebrate together, regardless of what you do :) PS: I have the same love language!

    1. That was so sweet of Bryan. I think going out to dinner a few days after V-Day is such a good idea. I agree waiters tend to rush people out and it's just way too crowded in restaurants on that day. I always feel bad for the employees.
