If You and I Had Coffee
If you and I had coffee...
We'd chat once again via FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom because of the damn coronavirus. Most likely, it would be via Zoom since I need to learn how to use it. You would most likely notice that I have a massive mug of coffee. Let's just say that homeschooling stuff has been a bit...challenging.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I've wanted to go on lots of walks, but the pollen has been insane. So we've been stuck inside. It's such a shame because the weather has been fantastic and the flowers are so beautiful. I've wanted to take more photos, but being stuck at home is not helping.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm still in a creative block. I have so many ideas and things that I want to make and write, but I haven't had the energy to do anything. It's really frustrating because you would think that being at home all day would help me create more, but of course, it doesn't. Just my luck.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd ask you what you are currently reading and if you have any book recommendations. I've been reading a lot. I'm so happy that I've been putting my Kindle to good use. The Kindle app has also been incredibly useful. I highly recommend the Kindle or using the app.
If you and I had coffee...
I'd tell you that I'm planning on trying to get the boys to write in a journal. I think it would be cool for them to share their thoughts and feelings, especially during this time. I also wonder if they'd be interested in art journaling. Sometimes I like to add their artwork in my journals. It's a good thing that we have lots of art supplies, but I need to find some more inexpensive art journals for them. If you have any recommendations on art journals for kids, please let me know.
What would you tell me?
Thanks for visiting!
Until next time...

Your Time Will Come
A friend of mine posted something on Facebook that has stuck with me for a few weeks. She wrote that she loves that so many of her friends are at a point in their lives where they have figured out how to balance work, family, and time for themselves while accomplishing their goals. She also mentioned that she hopes to get to that point in her life soon, but was feeling so overwhelmed and asked for advice. After reading the comments on her post, I noticed that so many people agreed with what she posted.
I think everyone has this same thought at one point in their lives. As we get older, we try to figure out what we want to do with our lives and balancing everything that we want to do can sometimes be challenging. I'm not an expert at life, but I did tell her that I think one of the most important things to remember is to not compare yourself to others. Everyone has their own life...their own journey. We all have different things that we want to accomplish. Some of our mutual friends are into music, writing, business, film, etc. Some of our friends are already parents while we still have a few friends who are trying to figure out what they want in a relationship.
Another important thing to remember is that we all need to do what is right for our own life. What may work for one person or family may not work for all of us. It's ok to have to adjust our routines to fit our lives. Life is not a competition. Your time will come. You will eventually find out what works for you.
One of the best things about that post and the comments was how everyone was so open and honest about their feelings. I love how so many of our mutual friends (and even people that we didn't know) could relate and were so supportive of each other. In the end, so many people made new friends and shared their websites, blogs, shops, music, etc. as well as their goals. The support and the encouragement on that post was incredible.
How do you balance work, family, and time for yourself?

Holl & Lane Magazine
I have been following Holl & Lane magazine for a few months and I absolutely love everything about this magazine. The Editor in Chief, Sarah Hartley, is such an inspiring woman. I love that she had a dream of making her own magazine and had the courage to go and do it.
When I found out that there was an open call for pitches, I knew I wanted to try and accomplish one of my life goals which is to write for a magazine. I will admit that I was absolutely terrified and there were a few times that I almost decided to just quit. I kept thinking no one will ever be interested in what I have to say or what I want to write. I kept doubting myself, but I kept thinking about how Sarah just went for her dream and was inspired all over again. I decided to write an essay and pitch Holl and Lane. And I am happy to announce that I was selected to be a contributor for this month's issue!
It is an honor to be a contributor for this month's issue of Holl and Lane magazine. Accomplishing this goal has made me think about my other writing goals. One of my major goals (and I've mentioned this on the blog before) is to share more essays and personal stories on my blog. I am hoping to start doing this very soon.
Thank you so much Sarah for making this amazing magazine and going for your dream. I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store for Holl and Lane magazine.
If you are interested in purchasing this magazine, reading my work and all of the other amazing stories in this month's issue, please feel free to use the code: DYM8EH3 to get 10% off your copy. If you are unable to buy an issue, please check out the Holl and Lane blog.

The Week Where So Many Things Went Wrong
Well you guys...I am back! You may or may not have noticed that I haven't blogged for about a week and a half. The reason why is because I had some major technical difficulties last week. Like seriously, it was so bad.
So yeah...this happened (see pic above). My charger literally just snapped by itself. Before I get into my charger issue, I should probably start at the beginning. The Sunday before last, my laptop randomly shut off and it took a few minutes to turn back on. I immediately called Apple because I thought something was wrong and a page popped up asking me to download a weird Mac protector. So the Apple technician that I spoke with helped me with that issue. After hanging up and thinking all was good, I noticed that my laptop was no longer charging. I tried all of the outlets in the house and none of them worked for my laptop. And guess what, I had to call Apple again.
I spoke with a different technician who thought that maybe my charger was broken. While I was speaking with her, I noticed that there was a slit on the thin cord of the charger which I know was not there when I spoke with the first technician. I informed the woman and while we were talking, I noticed a few sparks and actually got shocked myself. Don't worry, I'm ok. I unplugged the the charger and that's when the cord completely snapped off. When John came home from work, we went to go buy a new one.
When we got home, I went to charge my laptop and guess what? Do you think it worked? Nope! My laptop still wasn't charging! So I had to call Apple again! I told the third technician about my two previous calls and she told me that the issue was with my laptop. So we had to make an appointment. I was really hoping that I would get an appointment the next day, but the next available one was not until Tuesday. So on Tuesday, I went to Apple and was told that my laptop would be taken to a repair center and that it should take 3-5 days. Seriously...#bloggerproblems. Luckily, I got my laptop back in four days and I didn't even have to pay (Yay AppleCare!), but now I am super behind on a lot of stuff.
I was planning to write a few blog posts on Saturday, but the boys and I caught a Summer cold. So I decided to just try and rest for the rest of the weekend. I'm hoping that now that I have everything working that I can catch up on a lot of work. Hopefully your weekend was much better than mine.
What were you up to last week?
