Currently List #63

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: Once the boys went to bed, I caught up on some TV shows, the BET Awards, and watched Doom.

Reading: My Facebook newsfeed has been really interesting lately.

Listening: I really like the beat to this song.

Making: I saw this really cool idea on Instagram. A girl printed Kristin's (from Rukristin.com) Currently Lists onto some patterned cardstock so I did the same. They look awesome. Now I just have to cut them into cards.

Feeling: I did a lot of cleaning and definitely need to start splitting things throughout the week. I was so exhausted after all of that work.

Planning: I'm going to take the Find Your Voice workshop and have been gathering supplies for the class. I am also planning to join a few challenges as well so I have been looking through my supplies for that as well.

Loving: The iTunes Radio has been on point. I'm loving the Pure Pop, Latin Pop, and Workout Anthems-Hip-Hop stations.

Set Sail Card

Happy Saturday! Today's post is a little late in the day, but I was busy with errands and had a few to dos to get done. Once I was done with all of that, I was able to get some crafting done.

I bought the DCWV Seaside Yacht 12x12 paper stack a while ago, but never really had the chance to do anything with it. I love the papers that have the cards that you can cut apart and knew that I would eventually use those first. I love that you can leave them as they are or you can decorate them. I decided to decorate my favorite card that was in the stack which is the one that says "Set Sail".

I love how the card turned out. I think the red enamel dots adds a pop of color and the sail boats are so cute! I focused mainly at the corners of the card since the words were so big. This card was really easy to decorate which was what I was going for. Now I have to decide whether to use it in my Project Life album or just adhere it to a folded card and use it as a greeting card. I plan to decorate the rest of the cards from the Seaside Yacht pack as well as go with similar embellishments as well.

Supplies:

  • Recollections Craft It Valentine-Enamel Dots
  • Studio Calico Wood Veneers
  • DCWV Seaside Yacht cut apart card (Set Sail card)
  • Tombow Xtreme Adhesive
How is your weekend going? What have you made this week? Feel free to share in the comments section.

Until next time...

Currently List #62

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I am so excited and happy that this show is finally back on! It seems like it's been forever since the season finale. The first episode of the second season was INTENSE! I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes.

Reading: I was a little behind on my emails and blog posts so I was finally able to catch up on that today. My Facebook newsfeed has been interesting and although there has been a lot of sad and not to great things on the news lately, I have to keep up with the news. I really think it's important to keep up with current events.

Listening: Love this song so much! It's currently on repeat.

Making: I bought some Tim Holtz Distress Markers and I am loving them! I really needed some markers to use with the stamps (the ones that you can color in) and StazOn ink that I have.

Feeling: So I ended up having to go to the ER this weekend. It looks like I may have pulled a muscle in my side or back because the scans came out show that everything was normal. The doctor told me that I needed to rest and said that my husband would have to watch over me since we do have two small kids and I could not bend down or reach up. It was nice that my husband had the weekend off and we were able to spend time together on Father's Day. We stayed at home the entire weekend and I was able to rest while the boys played video games and watched cartoons.

Planning: I am planning to make some Project Life cards using some watercolors, gelatos, and my new distress markers. I am so excited and can't wait to show you all what I make.

Loving: I have been very uncomfortable the last few days due to the pain. It seems like every position I get into is very uncomfortable. However, today has been a little different. I am starting to get and feel a little better. I'm still sore, but I am able to lay down comfortably.

Disney Vacation Mini Album

In 2014, my family and I went to Disney World for the first time. We were so excited to go and had so much. I have been planning to start working on our vacation album for a while now and next thing you know an entire year passed by. I finally started working on it and am happy to say that the album is almost complete. I used various supplies on my album and love how it turned out. I used lots of stickers, chipboard, and finally put my Freckled Fawn Wanderlust kit to use.

I decided to document our drive down to Florida since we have never been on a long drive like this one before. The boys did so well considering it was about an 8-9 hour drive with a few stops here and there. We saw some interesting things on drive to Disney. When we arrived at our resort, we got settled in, had dinner, and then went to sleep so that we could get up early the next morning.

We went to Epcot first. While there, we at at the Coral Reef. It was absolutely amazing. The food, atmosphere, everything was amazing!

Magic Kingdom was by far our favorite theme park. We actually went to the park twice. We ate at Crystal Palace and then we ate at The Whispering Canyon Cafe on the other day that we went to Magic Kingdom. We weren't too impressed with the Crystal Palace. It wasn't horrible, but it was not what we were expecting.

Next, we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios. The boys loved meeting Jake from Jake and the Never Land Pirates. This was my favorite moment ever! The joy and smiles on their faces were just awesome!

We met Doc McStuffins and Sofia the First as well. We ate at Hollywood & Vine and absolutely loved it. We went to Animal Kingdom the next day (not pictured...yet), then had a rest day after that and spent the day at Downtown Disney (also not pictured yet). We definitely recommend going to the T-Rex Cafe if you go to Downtown Disney.

We wanted to stay at Disney forever. We had such a blast and cannot wait to go back again. I plan to post an update on my mini album with some pictures from Animal Kingdom, our rest day/day at Downtown Disney, and our second day at Magic Kingdom.

Supplies:

  • Moleskine
  • Freckled Fawn Wanderlust Kit
  • me & my big ideas-We're on Vacation
  • Disney Stickers
  • EKSuccess Disney Dimensional Stickers (glitter stickers)
  • EKSuccess Adhesive Chipboard
  • Elmer's Glue Dot Runner
  • Tomboy Xtreme Adhesive
  • Studio Calico patterned paper
  • Recollections Enamel Dots
  • Simple Stories Sn@p Stickers-Typeset
I plan to make a Part II post with the rest of pages of my album. Be sure to be on the lookout in the a few days (or next week) for the post.

Until next time...

Grateful

Gratitude...counting your blessings. This is so so true. I am so grateful for so many things. I may not have everything, but I can say that I feel and am blessed. I made a list of a few things that I am so grateful and thankful for.
  • My driving instructor- I recently decided to try and overcome my fear of driving. I am happy to say that I completed the hours that I signed up for and just signed up for just a few extra hours. I even tried driving with my husband after I completed my first set of lessons. I am starting to lose that fear and I have my instructor to thank for that.
  • Vacations and staycations- Everyone is always busy and I think that it is important for families to really spend a lot of time together. This can be tricky sometimes especially if you have different schedules or do not work a "normal" shift like Monday-Friday (9 to 5) type of job. So we are always grateful for the vacations and staycations that we get to have.
  • My family- They really are awesome. I love my husband, my kids, my mom, and siblings. There aren't even enough words that can describe how much I love them.
  • Health insurance- I seriously am grateful for our health insurance. My husband and I never really had to use our insurance (except for when I was pregnant and had my boys), but this year we have had to use it for our selves. I had to go to the doctor several times (nothing major) and when we saw how much we would have had to pay if we didn't have insurance, it really blew our minds.
  • Rompers- I don't like wearing dresses (and jeans are out of the question right now...it's way too hot) so I decided to purchase a few rompers after seeing a blog post with a review on a romper. I am now obsessed with them and love how versatile they can be.
  • McDonald's Mango Pineapple Smoothies- Wow these things are amazing! Lately, I have become obsessed with smoothies especially mango pineapple smoothies. It's been unbelievably hot lately and I'm just glad that I can cool down with a tasty smoothie.
What are you grateful for? Feel free to comment below and share.

Until next time...

Currently List #61

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I'm so glad that Devious Maids is back! This show is so entertaining. I also caught up on Tierra de Reyes. The show is starting to get really good.

Reading: Whoa! I had a ton of blogs to catch up on today. I'm really glad that I use Bloglovin' and I highly recommend it. I love that I can have all of the blog posts in one place which makes it easy to catch up on everything that I need to read.

Listening: I'm really starting to love Misterwives. I really like their song Vagabond. I may have to buy their album.

Making: I am also caught up on my Project Life album. I have about a week (or two?) to catch up on, but it's mostly journaling. I'm thinking about changing things up next year with my Project Life album. I think I might try a smaller size rather than 12x12 sized album...maybe I won't fall behind on my album so much.

Feeling: It's been a busy day today and I am so exhausted.

Planning: I got a few big things that I want to accomplish soon, but I will probably reveal what those things are once I actually do accomplish them. I don't want to jinx it.

Loving: It has been super hot lately. After going outside and feeling like I was going to melt, I am very happy to come inside to a nice, cool home.

Ways I use Washi Tape

Hey! Hey! A few days ago, I was looking through my craft supplies before I made a run to Michaels. I mainly go to craft stores to get adhesives and enamel dots since I get the Freckled Fawn Oh Deer Me embellishment kit. I have enough cardstock and patterned paper to last me a while so I don't purchase paper unless I don't have a specific color that I need or if it's an impulse buy. One thing that I have not bought in a very long time is washi tape. I guess technically you could say that I do purchase washi once a month since Freckled Fawn has a washi tape in every kit, but I haven't bought a single roll from Michaels or Hobby Lobby (or online) since last year.

When I was looking through my craft supplies, my washi tape collection caught my eye. I think that I have a decent amount of washi tape although I consider my stash to be small compared to other collections that I have seen. Looking at my washi tape basket made think of the ways that I use washi tape. Below are some ways that I use washi tape on my projects.

  • Layouts- I use washi tape on a lot of my layouts. I love that they add a pop of color and texture to my layouts.
  • Cards- I love that you can use washi tapes on greeting cards. These can be really useful especially when you want to make quick and simple greeting cards.
  • Project Life cards- Just like greeting cards, you can use washi tape to make quick and easy Project Life cards. Sometimes I use a couple of different washi tapes on my Project Life cards and other times, I just stick with one washi tape.
  • Home Decor- I love using washi tape when I want to make decorate frames. It's really simple, but so cute.
  • Gift Wrap- Ah this one is awesome. I have been known to forget to buy tape especially when I need to wrap a gift. When this happens, I just look through my stash of washi tape and pick whichever one looks closest to the gift wrap paper. Then I wrap the present and it's good to go.
  • DIY embellishments- I read an article (or maybe it was blog post?) and I learned about a super easy way to make your own embellishments using washi tape! So you get white cardstock and put strips of washi tape on it. Then you take any punch you have and punch out shapes. They look awesome as 3D embellishments (using foam dots to adhere punched out shapes) onto layouts, cards, etc.

So now I'm on the hunt for more ways to use washi tape because this is one crafting product that I actually hope to go through a just a bit more quickly.

What are some of your favorite ways to use washi tape?

Until next time...

Currently List #60

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I swear I love this novela. It's getting good.

Reading: Now that our staycation is over. I have been catching up on my emails and blogs. I also need to start reading some new books that I purchased over the past few weeks.

Listening: This song has been on repeat for the most of the day.

Making: I have been making lots of Project Life layouts, Project Life cards, and working on a mini album using my Freckled Fawn kits as well as other crafting supplies.

Feeling: So many awesome things are happening and it's making me feel excited, happy, and hopeful.

Planning: I've been trying to catch up on a lot of stuff. Due to our staycation, I decided to put a lot of things on hold so that we could enjoy our vacation. It was so worth it even though I have a ton of stuff to catch up on like errands and stuff on my to do list(s).

Loving: I'm feeling super hopeful and that is making me think of all the possibilities that are out there. If things go as planned then a lot of stuff might change. Usually I'm afraid of change, but some changes can be amazing.
