Currently List

It's Tuesday and it's time for another currently list!

Watching: This show is getting really good. I'm loving the storyline, but am upset that a couple of characters were killed off.

Reading: I finally caught up on a ton of blog posts. I also realized that I need to reorganize a lot of posts that I have saved.

Listening: This song has been on repeat the entire weekend. It is amazing!

Making: I have been making some art journal pages, working on the Awesome Ladies Project challenges, and an artwork for a project that I just started. I've also been working on Fox & Hazel's 30 Day watercolour challenge.

Feeling: I have been really stressed out the past few weeks and am starting to feel much better. I'm still feeling a bit tired, but I've been getting some more rest which has been great.

Planning: I have lots of projects to work on, but I really need to work on my Project Life album.

Loving: Oh my goodness! I think I mentioned before that I bought some of Dina Wakley's Heavey Body Acrylic Paints at Hobby Lobby a week ago and I finally tried them. I am loving these paints! I think I might have to get the rest of the colors.

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I finally caught up on some episodes of Awkward. This season is actually really interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Reading: As usual lots of articles and emails. I did start reading Mother, Can You Not? by Katie Siegel. I received the book from Blogging for Books and I will be posting my review once I get done reading the book.

Listening: This song has been on repeat all weekend.

Making: I'm still working on getting my blog posts done in advance.

Feeling: I have been getting some more rest which was so needed. I am starting to feel more well rested and energized, but I'm hoping to feel much better soon.

Planning: I have a lot of projects to catch up on and I think I will be trying to work on one project a day.

Loving: It was kind of cold this morning, but as the day went on, the weather got nice and warm. Here's to hoping that it stays warm, but not hot.

#100DaysofArt

Happy Monday! I am so excited to participate in Elle Luna's 100 Day Project on Instagram. You can check out her Instagram page here. The challenge starts tomorrow Tuesday, April 19 and ends on Wednesday July 27. For 100 days, you get to choose what you want to do. In the past, some people have chosen to write everyday and some even made paintings. You can take photographs, doodle, or learn something new. The possibilities are endless!

I am choosing to create art for 100 days. I have noticed that many people who participate and choose to create art will select a specific art form for 100 days. For instance, one person may choose to focus on watercolors while another may focus on acrylics. I kept wondering if I should focus on just one form of art, but decided that it would be better for me to just create any type of art for 100 days. I think this will work for me because I want to be able to make something...anything every single day. I know that there will be days when I want to break out my watercolors and some days I may want to bring out my acrylics or even my Faber-Castell gelatos. I may make a card one day or a doodle another day. I may make an art journal page or a layout. Either way, I will be creating art every single day for 100 days and I hope to create a piece of artwork every day even after the challenge/project ends.

I plan to post my takes on my Instagram page which you can check out here. I am also thinking about sharing some of my artwork on the blog as well.

Do you plan to participate in the 100 Day Project? What do you plan to do for 100 days?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

The Best Thing About Me Is You Card

Happy Hump Day! The week is halfway over! Today, I'm here to share a card that I made over the weekend. I am still working on using up a bunch of my stash. I am still in disbelief that I have a ton of Freckled Fawn items from previous kits. Yes, I am still working on March and April of 2015 kits.

I decided that I wanted to try making watercolor cards so I purchased some cards from Hobby Lobby. I know that I can just make my own cards, but I love Strathmore and their products so imagine my surprise when I found out that they make cards too.

To make this card, I stamped my image using Ranger archival ink. Then I used my Sakura Koi watercolors to paint a couple of words. I painted "best", "thing", "me", and "you" in various colors. Then I added some embellishments that would match the watercolors.

Aren't those enamel banners and hearts just the cutest? I think that adding the watercolors makes the sentiment pop since only a few of the words are colored in.

Currently List

Happy Tuesday! It's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I have finally caught up to The 100. It's starting to get good. The season premiere of Fear the Walking Dead had me feeling a bit unimpressed. There were some good moments, but I think it was just some of the characters that were really annoying me...specifically Alicia. Like I can't even with the stuff she was doing on the episode.

Reading:  The usual...a few news articles and emails. I also need to catch up on some blogs.

Listening: Is it weird that I may just go see the Huntsman:Winter's War simply because of this song? Seriously this song is so good. Maybe the movie will be decent, but I should probably watch the first movie.

Making: Lots of layouts, cards, and art journal pages.

Feeling: I still don't know what's going on with me, but I'm still feeling super exhausted.

Planning: I really need to plan the rest of my week or I am sure that I will get behind on lots of stuff.

Loving: I stayed at home for the entire weekend and although it was nice, it felt awesome to get some fresh air.

Love Birds Tags

Hey! Hey! Happy Thursday! Today, I'm going to share some tags that I made using a new (to me at least) stamp set that I purchased at Tuesday Morning.

I decided that I wanted to experiment a bit with some of the pink inks that I have as well as use my Ranger ink in Black Jet. So I chose to test them out on some tags rather than risk wasting any larger sized paper. I'm definitely still learning about which inks work with different types of paper. I'm still loving my Ranger ink as well as my StazOn ink (not used or pictured in this photo and experiment).

To make these tags, I just put some washi tape down and then cut the excess off. Then I stamped the little birds. To complete the look, I just added a heart at the top, but I used different colors and inks for the heart. I really like how the black ink looks and I also like the middle card that is on the bottom.

Supplies:

  • Manila Tags
  • Hampton Art Stamp Set
  • Ranger Ink-Jet Black
  • Heidi Swapp Dye Ink- Pink
  • Freckled Fawn washi tape
  • Hero Arts Ink
These tags were very easy to make and I plan on experimenting more with my other inks soon.

Country Crock Voxbox

I received another voxbox from Influenster a couple of weeks ago. I got the Country Crock voxbox. I have to admit I was a bit thrown off when I found out that the item would be butter, but was interested once I found out that they now use a different recipe. Some people actually received a tub of Country Crock, but I received a coupon to try Country Crock for free.

I chose to get the original style. I love that there are no artificial preservatives and they use simple ingredients in their recipe. I will admit that I do not have a preference when it comes to choosing butter. Usually, I would just choose whichever spread is on sale, but I have also noticed that I would usually purchase I Can't Believe It's Not Butter.

I decided to make some cookies using this recipe. I really like how the recipe turned out. The cookies were delicious! Overall, I really liked using this butter and will continue to use it. It was very easy to spread, is delicious, and healthy. I might even try the other styles that are available.

Have you tried Country Crock before?

DISCLOSURE: I received the products described in this post complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Currently List

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I have some catching up to do on several different shows. We still have to catch up on the season finale of The Walking Dead.

Reading: As usual, I have been catching up on emails and blog posts. I've also been reading lots of letters as well.

Listening: I really like this song. When I first heard the song, I would always change the station. It's funny how I love this song after I decided to listen to the entire thing.

Making: One of my blogging goals is to draft blog posts in advance. I'm happy to say that I am actually working my way to accomplishing this goal.

Feeling: We are enjoying Spring Break and have been sleeping in a bit. I'm actually surprised that the boys have been sleeping in later than usual, but it's awesome. We definitely needed the extra sleep.

Planning: I have a bunch of layouts to work on. I also need to work on my Project Life album as well as some creative team projects.

Loving: I have no idea what is going on with me, but I have been craving mint chocolate everything! I have been eating mint chocolate chip ice cream, Quaker Thin Mints Granola Bars, and Milano mint chocolate cookies.
