30 Days of Lists and December Daily Days 21-31

Hello! Can you believe that it's already December 31st? I can't believe that today is the last day of 30 Days of Lists and I can't believe that today is the last day in 2015! I know there must be a thousands maybe even millions of people this, but I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!

*There are a couple of pages with some pictures that have some blurred spots.*

Day 21: Signs I am...getting old

  • In bed super early
  • Not up to date on slang words
  • I will my younger sister "When I was your age, I..." stories
December Daily:

Today, I got all of the major cleaning done except for vacuuming the house because I ran out of carpet cleaner. Luckily, I can get that done tomorrow with John's help.

Day 22: I need another pair of arms to...

  • Carry all of these bags from shopping
  • Help fold laundry
  • Help wrap presents
  • Bake
  • Declutter
December Daily:

Today was John's day off. He was able to vacuum for me and I was able to make a blog post which may be the last one for the week due to the holidays.

Day 23: Say yes to...

  • New opportunities
  • Books
  • Craft Supplies
  • Adventure
  • Ice Cream
  • Nap time
December Daily:

Today, I finished making the rest of my Christmas cards. I ale made a last minute shopping list. I caught up on some laundry as well so that i won't have to worry about it after Christmas.

Day 24: How I can help others:

  • Listen
  • Give advice (when asked and be honest...don't say what they want to hear)
  • Be there (support)
December Daily:

We always celebrate Christmas at my mami's house on Christmas Eve. The boys had lots of fun. When we got home, we put some candy covered pretzels out for Santa.

Day 25: Favorite gifts to give:

  • Giftcards
  • Books
  • Bath & Body Works products
  • Baked goods (i.e. cookies, cakes, etc.)
December Daily:

Today was a great day! The boys opened their presents and I made some breakfast. I went for a walk later on that day. Then in the evening, we went to my in laws and celebrated Christmas.

Day 26: Things that can wait until tomorrow:

  • Cleaning
  • Laundry
December Daily:

John went to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens with Red. He was so excited to see it and they both told me that it was a great movie. Once they got back, John, Red, and the boys played Smash Bros. I bought a pizza for dinner. After dropping Red off, we went to Lights of Life. The boys loved seeing all of the Christmas/holiday lights.

Day 27: My Favorite Things About This Time Of The Year:

  • Spending time with family & friends
  • Christmas music
  • Christmas movies
  • Baking
  • Surprises
  • Making Christmas cards
December Daily:

Yesterday, I had a few hours of "me time". I went to Joann which is kind of far and bought some blank, white Project Life cards. I have been searching for these cards for a long time and my local Michaels and Hobby Lobby never carried them. I was so surprised to find them at Joann, but immediately purchased them. Later that day, I took Jaileny to work and walked around the mall for a bit. I also went to Barnes and Noble and found another book that I want, but will purchase it once I finish a bunch of the new books that I received. That night, we went to Six Flags for their Holiday in the Park. We love how they decorated the park and the boys loved the "snow".

Day 28: How to Push My Buttons

  • Lying to me
  • Being rude and inconsiderate
  • Being late
  • Cut me off while driving
December Daily:

Today has been amazing! I got a ton of cleaning done and laundry done early. Then the boys and I went to a Target that was farther away from the two that we normally go to. I love that I'm driving to places that are not nearby...I am definitely feeling a lot more confident driving. We went to the library and got lots of books to read. Then I got the best e-mail ever!

Day 29: Resolutions I Kept This Year...

  • Took driving lessons
  • Got my license
  • I let a lot of things go

December Daily:

I went to pick up our new license plate and tag from the tag office. I got a couple of loads of laundry done and worked on lots of layouts. I was also able to post a new blog post.

Day 30: The Highlights of 2015

  • Quitting my job
  • Getting a new car
  • Being selected to be on the Nerd Nest Challenge Creative Team
  • John's promotion

December Daily:

I finally got caught up on Project Life...well kind of. I only have one week to work on. I also drafted up a few blog posts. I paid a few bills and started to look at a some budgeting pages in my budget planner (I know being an adult is so much fun). I also posted a new blog post of a really cool layout that I made. You can check that out here.

Day 31: 2016 Will Be The Year Of...

  • Creating
  • Saving and Budgeting
  • Adventure
December Daily:

I can't believe it's December 31st. This year really went by so fast! There were a few challenges, but so many opportunities and good things happened this year. 2015 was a really good year and I can only hope that next year will be even better. Christmas Eve Layout 2015

Hello! Happy Hump Day! Christmas may be over, but I still have some projects to finish. Today, I want to share a layout that I made a few days ago.

We always celebrate Christmas Eve at my mami's house. When I was a kid, we always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve. After dinner, we would open our gifts at midnight. Christmas morning was spent eating breakfast, playing with our toys, and just relaxing. Now that I am an adult with children of my own, we still celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve at my mami's house. Then on Christmas Day, we go to my in laws to celebrate.

For this layout, I used a picture of the top of my mami's Christmas tree. I love how she decorates her tree. I also used a picture of the treats that we left out for Santa and his reindeers. I have trying to use a lot of my Christmas supplies that I bought recently as well as supplies from a couple of years ago. For this layout, I decided to use a bunch of embellishments and put them all over the page.

I used dimensional stickers, enamel stickers, and a tree wood veneer. I love how colorful the page looks and that there is just the right amount of white space.

How cute is that "Do You Believe" sticker? It's perfect for Christmas Eve! I will definitely make more layouts using lots of embellishments. This was a great way to use up a lot of my supplies.

Supplies Used:

Do you celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve or do you celebrate it on the 25th? Do you have any traditions or does your plans change every year?

Thanks for visiting!

Until next time...

Moments Like This Make Life So Sweet Layout

Hello! I have been busy working on lots of layouts and other projects. Today, I want to share a second Thanksgiving layout that I made. You can see my other Thanksgiving 2015 layout here.

I absolutely love this photo of my boys. As soon as we got to my Mami's house, they immediately went to the tree. I love that they are so excited for the holidays. It really brings me so much joy. Usually they try to run off when I try to get them to pose for pictures, but they were so excited and happily posed for pictures.

I used my favorite item from Freckled Fawn's November kit which are the chipboard phrase stickers. I have also been a bit obsessed with labels as well so I used one of the label stickers to write "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas". I added an enamel heart underneath the journaling. I also used another label sticker and stamped the date on it (you can see it in the first picture). I also went a bit enamel dot crazy and added a bunch of enamel dots at the top of the layout so that there would not be a lot of white space (you can see it in the first picture).

I used some more of the chipboard phrase stickers and a couple of the faux leather stickers. I did use an item from Freckled Fawn's October 2015 kit which was the transparency circle. I didn't know which adhesive would be best to use to adhere the transparency circle, but I ended up using my Tombow mini tape. I used a ruler and added lines so that I could add some more journaling.

This is definitely one of my favorite layouts. I still can't believe that I still have a bunch of items left in the kit.

Currently List #86

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: We love watching Teen Titans. We watched a few episodes and then later in the day, I caught up on Bajo El Mismo Cielo. I can't believe that the show's finale is only a couple of weeks away.

Reading: As usual, I am reading and catching up on some e-mails and blog posts. I bought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: The Illustrated Edition last week and I plan to start reading it this week. I did skim through the pictures and they are gorgeous! It will be my first time reading the book so I am excited.

Listening: iTunes radio is the best! I have been listening to the Urban Latino, Pure Pop, and Hip-Hop stations.

Making: Christmas is right around the corner and I am making a few last minute plans for this week as well as next week. My son's birthday is coming up as well so we have a few things to get done as well. I always expect to make last minute plans especially this week and the week of Christmas.

Feeling: With all the errands and my never ending to-do list, I am really tired and sleepy. I definitely need a nap.

Planning: I really need to finish making my Christmas cards. I did get a bunch done a few days ago.

Loving: Now that I know how to drive, I find myself wondering why in the world was I so afraid of driving. It's really not too bad except for those irresponsible people who drive like maniacs, but overall, it's really great! Now that I can drive, I can get a lot of stuff done really early. Those driving lessons were a good investment!

A Really Great Day Layout

Hello! Happy Sunday! Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is just around the corner, but I am still working on a few Thanksgiving layouts. Today, I want to share one of the layouts that I was able to complete yesterday.

I really like the items that were in this month's kit. It's perfect for Thanksgiving, but can also be used for any other day. When I received November's kit, I already knew that I would primarily use it for Thanksgiving. Normally, I don't make 12x12 layouts, but I decided to make one this time.

We went to my mami's house for dinner on Thanksgiving and had a blast. I decided to use this picture for my layout because I wanted a picture with food and people. I also love this picture of my son. He was so ready to eat and I think I may have caught him right after he took a bite of food.

I really love the wood veneer pieces that came in this month's kit. I used my Tombow mini power tape to adhere the wood veneer to the cardstock. I decided to use the large transparency letters to spell out the rest of the title. I also used my Tombow tape to adhere the letters to the paper. The chipboard phrase stickers were also a favorite item of mine. I selected the ones that I wanted to use and then decided to make a pattern using three colors.

I used a ruler to make lines for my journaling and love how it turned out. I added a few embellishments like the faux leather sticker and a flair sticker above the transparency sticker so that there would not be a lot of white space. I also added a label sticker and stamped the date on it.

Overall, I really like how this layout turned out and I still have a ton of items from the kit left so I can still make more layouts, Project Life cards, greeting cards, etc.

Do you subscribe to Freckled Fawn? Have you made any Thanksgiving layouts?

30 Days of Lists and December Daily Days 1-10

Hello! Today, I am so excited to share my notebook that I am using to document December's 30 Days of Lists and December Daily. December Daily was created by Ali Edwards. Usually I keep my lists and December Daily separate, but I decided to keep them both in a Moleksine notebook.

One thing that I did to make documenting my December easier was to pick out items that I would use in advance.  I used StazOn ink with the stamp. I typed up the  30 Days of Lists prompt, printed the sheets, and then cut each of the prompt. I decided to adhere the prompts onto each page (left side), but I left the right side pages blank so that I could document each day (for December Daily).

I used the Christmas Wishes stamp set by Pinkfresh Studio to decorate my cover as well as a die cut from the  Christmas Wishes die cut pack.

For the first page, I decided to adhere some phrases from Chickaniddy Crafts' 6x6 Jolly Good paper pack. I also used a wood veneer tree, gold Studio Calico numbers from a sticker set, a Basic Grey card from their 5th and Pine snippets, and some Me & My Big Ideas alphas from their Christmas sticker sheets.

Day 1: December is for...
  • Eating Little Debbie gingerbread man cookies
  • Christmas trees
  • Watching lots of Christmas movies
  • Making lots of cards and crafts
  • Holiday traditions
  • Magic
December Daily:

We got our new car back today. We had to leave it for almost two days because the dealership's vendor was putting leather in the car. We are so glad that we finally got it back.

Day 2: New Things I Tried This Year
  • Driving lessons
  • Instagram
  • Crockpot recipes
  • Crafting Techniques
December Daily:

That moment when you call AT&T to discuss a billing issue & other things related to Uverse service & you end up talking about The Walking Dead & how glad you are that Glenn is alive. *Excuse the run-on sentence...I was so excited when I wrote this down.*

Day 3: Ways to Spread Cheer

  • Bake cookies, pies, cakes, etc.
  • Make handmade gifts
  • Christmas cards
  • Smile & laugh
  • Random acts of kindness
  • "The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear." -Buddy
December Daily:

We got a new package of Michael's school pictures. They put a holiday package together so I decided to buy them even though we have the same pictures (just not with a holiday background). He looks so cute and I can't wait to give Mami a magnet with his picture on it.

Day 4: Ways to Survive Winter Season

  • Drink hot chocolate
  • Soups
  • Holiday movies
  • Cozy PJs
  • Eat gingerbread cookies
  • Dance
December Daily:

I got Gabriel's holiday picture package today. I love how he is smiling in this picture. He always smile in everyone else's picture, but if he sees me trying to take a picture of him...he hides! *Ha ha maybe I need to get some tips on how to get him to take some pictures for me.*

Day 5: Favorite songs right now

  • Anything by Michael Buble
  • Hello by Adele
  • Confident by Demi Lovato
  • Cake by the Ocean by DNCE
  • Un Beso by Baby Rasta y Gringo
  • On my Mind by Ellie Goulding
December Daily:

My younger sister had her first date and I had to go "chaperone". Don't worry, I didn't embarrass and I sat away from her because I didn't want her or her date to feel awkward since I already had to see the movie "with" them. My sister was so excited to go and was so grateful that I didn't sit near them or annoy them so it was like I wasn't even there.

Day 6: Ways to be Creative

  • Art Journal
  • Write
  • Try something new
  • Use paint
  • Make a recipe
  • Use embellishment
December Daily:

I went to buy my mom some light bulbs and had to go a few times because none of the new bulbs that I bought worked. My sister broke one of the new bulbs and we are still on the hunt for some light bulbs that actually work.

Day 7: How to battle a case of the Mondays

  • Coffee
  • Just breathe
  • Try not to think about it being Monday
  • Make a list or have your planner close by
December Daily:

*Check out my Currently List post here.

Day 8: Headlines I would like to read

  • No more wars
  • No more world hunger
  • Free healthcare for everyone
  • Paid maternity & paternity leave for a year
  • Donald Trump no longer running for president
  • Aliens do exist! Communication finally made!
December Daily:

I got a lot of stuff done early. I got some laundry and a few errands done. While I was out, I bought some Chik-Fil-A for breakfast. I am very thankful for days like this.

Day 9: I love how I ______________

  • Am feeling more confident when driving
  • Am getting stuff done well in advance
  • Am letting things go
  • Am open minded
  • Am embracing Instagram
  • Stand up for myself
December Daily:

Christmas Cards List
  • Mami
  • Jaileny
  • Wanda
  • Boys' teachers
  • John
  • Bonita & Jeff
  • Jennifer & Jeffrey Jr

Day 10: Favorite reads this year

  • Lots of blogs!
  • Mile 81 by Stephen King *I read it in his new book The Bazaar of Bad Dreams*
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
  • The Martian by Andy Weir
December Daily:

I just bought Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: The Illustrated Edition. I have not read any of the books & have only watched a few minutes of the first movie. I'm really excited to red this book & I actually planned to read it last year, but I never did. I can't wait to read this to the boys once they are a little older. But I may read it to them [soon] or show them the pictures. I wonder what is the recommended age to start reading this book. I will definitely check this [information] out soon.

Currently List #85

Hello! It's Tuesday and it's time for another Currently List!

Watching: I've been watching the news on and off throughout the day.

Reading: As usual, I'm catching up on some emails. I'm also reading some notes in planner and my list of to dos for the rest of the week.

Listening: I kind of like this song. I really like the beat to this song.

Making: I am almost caught up with Project Life. I hate when I get too far behind on my album, but at least I only have one week left to complete. Once I complete that week, I will be caught up.

Feeling: I got a ton of cleaning done as well as some errands taken care which left me super exhausted.

Planning: I really need to catch up on my December Daily and 30 Days of Lists notebook. I'm really glad that I decided to put both December Daily and 30 Days of Lists in the same notebook. It shouldn't take too long to catch up since I have the base of my notebook done and I also took notes in my notepad so I wouldn't forget what went on each day.

Loving: The weather was fantastic! Perfect fall weather!

Black Friday Shopping

Hey! Hey! Thanksgiving and Black Friday is over which means that Christmas is just around the corner. I meant to blog about my Black Friday experience last week, but I have been so busy and everything has been hectic since just a few days before Thanksgiving. Holidays...they are awesome, but can really make you get behind on stuff. Oh and just a heads up...this post is a bit long.

I was never interested in Black Friday. That's right...never. I usually try to get my shopping done before Thanksgiving so I never have a need to go out and buy all the things on Black Friday or the few days after that. I may sound crazy, but I usually start my shopping around September and sometimes I even purchase things the day after Christmas (presents for next Christmas). However, this year was different. This year, I decided to go shopping on Thanksgiving night (pre-Black Friday?) and on Black Friday. The place that we wanted to go to the most was Old Navy.

Old Navy- My husband and I went to Old Navy and took advantage of their 50% off everything sale. Seriously it was an amazing sale! We really needed some new winter and workout clothes. My husband got several pairs of jeans, a coat, some shirts...he seriously needed some new clothes. I needed some new leggings, yoga pants (I didn't find any), workout shirts, two sweaters and I got a pair of ankle booties. I came back the next day because I needed an extra pair of leggings and also bought a scarf. We also bought our shirts for our Christmas photos.

Tuesday Morning- I had been eyeing these goodies for a few weeks now and decided to treat myself. I really needed some roller stamps since the ones that I had only had dates.

Michaels- I have been making a lot of cards so I decided to stock up on a few packs of cards. I also bought some gemstones for some Christmas cards that I need to make.

Barnes and Noble- I took advantage of the sales that Barnes and Noble had. I have been wanting to purchase Stephen King's new book since it came out. Since I am a Barnes and Noble member, I was able to get 40% off the book (hardcover books are 40% off for members, 30% off for nonmembers) plus I was able to use a 30% off coupon on the book as well. Magazines were also 30% off so I bought The Food Network magazine.

John and I have only recently started watching Game of Thrones. We watched seasons 1 and 2 a few weeks ago and were considering purchasing the third season. The next day, I realized that we could get discounts on DVDs since I'm a member of Barnes and Noble. The DVD was 30% off and I was able to add another 30% off coupon on top of the discount so I purchased it.

So how was my Black Friday shopping experience? It was awesome! I was nervous about going to Old Navy because I always heard about people running around all over the place and fighting for stuff and deals. And I just can't even...it's insane that people do that. However, everyone was kind and  seemed very organized. No stampedes, not a single fight...just a bunch of people shopping. There was a lot of people at Michaels, but the employees had everything so organized. As usual, there's usually not a lot of people at Tuesday Morning and I was out of that store in less than 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people in Barnes and Noble. I was expecting it to be crowded, but it wasn't. I wonder if that's because I got there around 8 am. I did go to the mall and Toys R Us, but I purchased gift cards. It was crowded at the mall and Toys R Us, but I was out of the mall and Toys R Us in less than 10 minutes. I went to Walmart and found some yoga pants and was out in less than 20 minutes.

So will I ever shop again on Black Friday or the next few days after that? I probably will especially if Old Navy has a deal like that again or if we really need something from there. If I ever have to go to Walmart during Black Friday weekend, I will definitely go the route that I did and just go there on Saturday or Sunday. One thing is for sure, I will always start my Christmas shopping in advance. It's so awesome that I didn't have to go to a ton of stores to buy gifts because we already got everything for everyone else.

Did you go Black Friday shopping? How was your experience?

Until next time...
